Straitjacket Feeling Lyrics

Back me down from backing up
Hold your breath now it's stacking up
Etched with marks, but I can deal
And you're the problem and you can't feel
Try this on, straitjacket feeling
so maybe I won't be alone
Take back now, my life you're stealing

Yesterday was hell
But today I'm fine without you
Run away this time without you
And all I ever thought you'd be
That face is tearing holes in me again
Trust you is just one defense
off a list of others, you don't make sense
Beg me time and time again
to take you back now, but you can't win
Take back now, my life you're stealing

Yesterday was hell
But today I'm fine without you
Run away this time without you
And all I ever thought you'd be
That face is tearing holes in me
but today I'm fine without you
Run away this time without you
And all the things you put me through
I'm holding on by letting go of you

It's definitely 'yesterday was hell' I've listened to it twice now and there is now way he is saying yesterday was over.

yesterday was over? they wouldn't put that in one of their songs. first of all, yesterday IS over is grammatically correct, and yesterday WAS over doesn't make any sense. and if they did put it in there, it would run like this: "Yesterday was O..." and then blurring the second syllable into the next line "...VER. Today I'm fine."

Also, if you imagine "...hell, but" in it's place, "but" is a more suitable word to blend into the next line subtly like that, and it makes more sense with the rest of the song, because he's comparing YESTERDAY and TODAY, and correct me if I'm wrong.... When I compare two things in a sentence, I usually put BUT in the middle....

Plus, he does say "but today I'm fine" indefinitely later on in the song, when the chorus is extended with "and all the things you put me through, i'm holding on by letting go of you."

So, if he said "but" there, he more than likely said it earlier at the beginning of the chorus, following the "Yesterday was hell"

I rest my case. Now change the damn lyrics.

is it just me, or does it sound like he says 'bang me time and time again' in the second verse!? lol maybe im just twisted!

It sounds like that to me! I always sang it as, "Bang me, time and time again." lol

My favorite from the new album! I think the lyrics are pretty blatant: he's finally moving on.

i agree with annErocks. most if not all of the songs on their previous cd was about his heart being broken by a girl and this song is just saying that he is moving on
