the last thing i wanna do right now is read your stupid poetry
why cant you just tell me what you really wanna say?
you'd clear your conscience with words so weak and empty
but something in your eyes gave you away
and i've been lonely like a silhouette or a serenade
a heart attack or a man betrayed
the arms of love are holding me like a silhouette or a serenade
is this all you have to say this broken boy would hang on every word
you tell me that you need me while i slowly fall apart
you'd heal your heart ache with words so cool and callous
but the absence of your tears gave you away
and i've been lonely like a silhouette or a serenade
a heart attack or a man betrayed
the arms of love are holding me like a silhouette or a serenade
and all pretty poems have to end
so i say this before i leave
if words are your weapons my dear i surrender, surrender
and i've been lonely like a silhouette or a serenade
a heart attack or a man betrayed
the arms of love are holding me to you

The lyrics are a bit to emo for VR, but its okay since they are such an awesome band! i liked the whole point of the song, it made me think about some of the relationships that ive been in. "all pretty poems have to end"

This is by far my favorite Vendetta Red song. I bougt the cd the day my first love and i split. So this song holds meaning to me. Plus ut has nothing to do with death so It's different for them.

this song has special meaning to me whenever i hear it i think of: this guy.. that i really want to be with but he's too worried about our friend who has a crush on me. we have to keep everything hidden and it's terrible.. we are all over each other and he's telling me he loves me but he doesn't want to be a bad friend. too late. i can tell that he feels bad, and has a heavy heart for doing this to me.. so he makes up all these weak reasons but i can tell that he means none of it and he really wants what i do. the only reason i'm not just being like 'fuck this' is because i'm actually in love with the boy.. it's been forever since this started.. when he says ' tell me that you need me while i slowly fall apart ' i feel that way when this guy tells me he loves me.. and then asks that it be a secret.. i'm like damn.. you say all this but it's killing me.. and he talks about healing the heartache that to me is me telling him that .. when i hear him talk to zack about how he doesn't have feelings for me but there's zero emotion in it.. it's pretty much a conditioned response from him.. it's obvious to everyone except for zack that he wants to be with me but i believe that is just because zack only sees what he wants..

My #3 song of all time. this song is so complete, it is wanting for nothing but to be listened to again and again. This was the 1st vendetta red song and i head it like 3 years ago right when it came out but i never checked the band out until about 8 months ago. it's a shame they broke up after such a momentous album as was Sisters... If i had only one album to choose to be the album to listen to for the rest of my life, it would be Sisters of the Red Death. And I don't even consider them my fav. band, that ought to tell you something. Seriously, if you haven't checked out the rest of the album, I highly recommend that you do so immediately.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
