Well as far as the meaning goes its pretty clear but the way i see it is that this song is about standing up for yourself and about how the things you hear on the news and from the goverment a.ka. "Them" scare some people into completly losing their sense of indepence almost. Amazing song i have to say, definitely one of the gems on their first cd.

this song amaze's me. i love how scary kids doesnt just sing about breakups and sunshine and how much you love your boyfriend or whatever. they actually talk about the world and stuff..i like it =)

i have no idea what this song is referring to but my interpretation is the news and radio and tv that talk about all these horrible things going on in the world, there "drowning you in fear", and how you lose your own personal opinions and whatnot. and that you need to remember to stand up for your self and be an individual and live life to the fullest no matter what the public says. :]
