I'd Like to Walk Around In Your Mind Lyrics
I'd like to walk around in your mind someday
I'd like to walk all over the things you say to me
I'd like to run and jump on your solitude
I'd like to rearrange your latitude to me
You say you just want peace and you'd never hurt anyone
You see the end before the beginning has ever begun
I would disturb your easy tranquility
I'd turn away the sad impossibility of your smile
I'd sit there in the sun of the things I like about you
I'd sing my songs and find out just what they mean to you
But most of all I'd like you to be unaware
And I'd just wander away
Trailing palm leaves behind me,
So you don't even know that I've been there
I'd like to walk all over the things you say to me
I'd like to rearrange your latitude to me
You see the end before the beginning has ever begun
I'd turn away the sad impossibility of your smile
I'd sing my songs and find out just what they mean to you
And I'd just wander away
Trailing palm leaves behind me,
So you don't even know that I've been there

i always heard it as "i'd like to rearrange your latitude to me", as in she wants to be closer to the person she is singing to. i see it as a song of admiration "i'd sit there in the sun of the things I like about you", not necessarily love. that or she loves the person but doesn't actually want them to know, "most of all I'd like you to be unaware".
That is an interesting alternative. In truth, I think she sings "attitude", but it's a nice thought.

You are absolutely right, she does say "latitude." It's very clear to hear to me. I can't even hear it without the "l" if I try. Though I do like both ways in a lyrical sense.

@notahope That's exactly what I thought. Because rearranging their attitude means they're upset with them, it would seem. But I keep hearing latitude, which would make the meaning as you described, which fits better w/ the rest of the lyrics

It sounds like the speaker really wants to cheer up a loved one, to get inside their mind and explore that place they think is so beautiful and bask in the things they like about that person, to let them know how the speaker thinks so highly of them. But she doesn't want them to know she's been messing around in their head to make them feel better, she just wants them to feel better, if that makes sense. The line "I'd like to run and jump on your solitude" is so sweet to me. The person's sad and alone and the speaker wants to crash in on their unhappy state and wake them up and help them have fun again.
She has a soothingly smooth voice; it's hard to imagine her disturbing anybody's "easy tranquility".
Beautiful song.
I imagine this to be about Mr Spock
