Losing Sight Lyrics
how could we lose sight
of what matters most
trying to love
what cannot love us back
all we have is not worth living for
if we do not know when to let go
what is this life
that we cling to it so tight
afraid that it will take from us
these fading sentiments
can we die to live another day
of what matters most
trying to love
what cannot love us back
all we have is not worth living for
if we do not know when to let go
what is this life
that we cling to it so tight
afraid that it will take from us
these fading sentiments
can we die to live another day

This song i think is about materialism. "trying to love what cannot love us back"
and to "lose sight of what matters most" is to lose sight of god and their faith in him.

really good drums and guitar in this song
If you have listened to this entire album it is not like frail words collapse. this cd starts out as a story and at the beggining it starts out how some of us can just get depressed and "lose sight" in all things and just give up but as the cd goes on he tells himself he will get stronger and better and as the cd goes on it kicks more ass as well. thats the way i personally take this song and cd!
this song is very thought-provoking. It makes you realize that all of our thoughts, goods, morals and relative signifigance to alter ultimatlely means nothing if we "all' collectively lose them to death. If death is one ultimate destiny then everything is fading away, and really does not matter whether they happen or not. He asks in the end how could we live consistently this way?
I agree with both of them. It is about materialism. People do it all the time. Unfortantally, I do sometimes too. I think, maybe, the last line "can we die to live another day" is him regreting about being so materialistic.
I agree that it is about materialism to an extent, but its also about the importance of God's love, above the love of all else.
you guys are right on the money, but to me the last line is a refrence to his faith. "can we die to live another day" meaning we "die" to our selfish desires by letting it go and allowing christ to guide even our desires. this act of losing yourself is a sense of dying to your own selfishness and allowing Christ to live through you.
