You Won't Change Me Lyrics
I'm just a man and I am what I am
Nobody will ever change my ways
I don't need money and I don't need no lies
I only need to live for today
But I'd like to talk things over with you
I want to hear the things you say, today
Although you won't change my anyway, no no way
I wish you'd come and see me, I'd like to hold you
I want to set my mind all free
You understand me woman, you give me time
But I don't need no sympathy
Still I wonder what it's like to be loved
Instead of hiding in myself
Nobody will change me anyway, no no way
Nobody's gonna change my world
That's something too unreal
Nobody will change the way I feel
So listen to me now, hear what I say
Please give me time and maybe love
If there's a God up there, well I hope he helps me
I need him now to set me free
'Cause it may be that it's over for me
If you don't hear the things that I say, today
Nobody will change me anyway, no no way
Nobody's gonna change my world, that's something too unreal
Nobody will change the way I feel
Nobody will ever change my ways
I don't need money and I don't need no lies
I only need to live for today
But I'd like to talk things over with you
I want to hear the things you say, today
Although you won't change my anyway, no no way
I want to set my mind all free
You understand me woman, you give me time
But I don't need no sympathy
Still I wonder what it's like to be loved
Instead of hiding in myself
Nobody will change me anyway, no no way
That's something too unreal
Nobody will change the way I feel
Please give me time and maybe love
If there's a God up there, well I hope he helps me
I need him now to set me free
'Cause it may be that it's over for me
If you don't hear the things that I say, today
Nobody will change me anyway, no no way
Nobody will change the way I feel

The song says time, NOT eternity;) Good song and good band, though. Brings back lots of old memories from the decade of really good music.
A person that no one person, religion, society and government can change his mind. Still the individual is willing to hear their point of views and ideas.
In the second verse describes how the significant other (MIS)understands the individual and shows sympathy rather than love. But this is so because he, although capable of feeling love, can not express love.
The last verse shows that there is still hope. Only He can change his world/feelings.
Sabbath at this time were going coke bonkers. The Ozzman was also having problems in his first marriage that ultimately ended in divorce.
I always thought this was about a woman who broke off a love affair, and how the man simply wanted to get back together and make peace with it, talk about why she used him.
I think it's about being too numbed out to be able to fall in love, there's a woman he wants to love, but can't and he can't change that. About feeling emotionless and soulless.
