Lazarus (In The Wilderness) Lyrics
Revealing your desire,
Upon these ashes..
In your fear,
It will swallow the river that divides.
There's no life in here at all,
To seek this self decay..
There's no life in here at all,
To take these dreams away..
This burning ever,
Will conquer all you see,
And this burning ever,
Will bury your heart..
There's no life in here at all,
To seek this self decay..
There's no life in here at all,
To take these dreams away..
So what are we all built upon,
Soon fragile in decay,
What are we all built upon,
To take these dreams away..
Why need a..
Why need a new faith
When the old is still ok
Will you still..
Will you still love this
As the interest in it fades away?
As it fades away..
As the interest in it fades away
It fades away..
The interest in it fades away..
Upon these ashes..
In your fear,
It will swallow the river that divides.
To seek this self decay..
There's no life in here at all,
To take these dreams away..
Will conquer all you see,
And this burning ever,
Will bury your heart..
To seek this self decay..
There's no life in here at all,
To take these dreams away..
Soon fragile in decay,
What are we all built upon,
To take these dreams away..
Why need a new faith
When the old is still ok
Will you still..
Will you still love this
As the interest in it fades away?
As it fades away..
As the interest in it fades away
It fades away..
The interest in it fades away..

ok this time you cant tell me i'm wrong when i say this is about them changing they're music style can you?
ya. YOUR WRONG!! lol jkjk
When I first saw the title I thought "As In Adam Lazzara? Could FFAF have an opinion on the John/Jesse/Adam hate/love triangle?!" but i think i just may be wrong...by a long shot
FFAF has matured A LOT. Lyrically and musically. IMO, they used to be exclusively emo. I liked "Casually Dressed & Deep In Conversation" but "Hours" appeals to me so much more. They are one of the few "emo" bands that I've recognized as real music and this is coming from a metalhead. ;)
But this a truly awesome song. One of the few real gems on the "Masters of Horror" compilation.
ugh- please dont call ffaf emo
this is a great song. i have no idea what it means but i will say that it has to do with starting over. maybe i'll have a lucky guess
ffaf rule! they arent emo! thats like saying mcr are emo, just because everyone/thinks says they r doesnt make it so...
ffaf rule!
Correct me if im wrong but I believe this song is actually written about a man in the bible who's name is lazarus. I can't quite remember which chapter the stories in but basically its about a man that died and before he died his sister begged Jesus to heal him but Jesus never came. So the man died. But then Jesus performed a miracle and brought him back to life then everyone came from around the world to see the miracle he performed. I think I can see roughly how this song came from that. Just a thought.
