Elephant Song Lyrics
I was just sitting there
And time in a hand, I will be the one
And he's alone outside
And in your face I won't be arranged
And in this beaconing
The end of time is all that I had
He's all alone again
And in the end I'll still be alone
In your eyes
And it's no sacrifice
Giving what I am
To the faces me that is this
I'm going on my way
But I don't spend enough time with her
And it's alright to snow
Cause I'll find ways to live without
He's all alone outside
But your face is just like the one
And in this beaconing
He gets me, a scared of
Yeah...
When I thought I'd known
But I can't give to something I'd known
And in this time, alone,
Is me, right, but I've been alone
And on your death I say, he said...
And time in a hand, I will be the one
And he's alone outside
And in your face I won't be arranged
And in this beaconing
The end of time is all that I had
He's all alone again
And in the end I'll still be alone
And it's no sacrifice
Giving what I am
To the faces me that is this
But I don't spend enough time with her
And it's alright to snow
Cause I'll find ways to live without
He's all alone outside
But your face is just like the one
And in this beaconing
He gets me, a scared of
Yeah...
But I can't give to something I'd known
And in this time, alone,
Is me, right, but I've been alone
And on your death I say, he said...

WHY ARE YOU WRITING IN CAPS!?!?
this is a great song by the way, alberts got talent.
great song but nothing... and i mean nothing.....will ever top the 90 seconds of pure brilliance that is Clear Skies....if only it was longer
these lyrics aren't even close to correct!
They are very correct I'm farily certain of, but this is the one that they played live at Brownies, back in January of 2000. The one they rerecorded for the Fan Club later on goes like this:

I was just sitting there Time in hand I will be the one And it's so easy darling, Please take off and I'll be safe He's all alone outside And if you try too hard then you got to let go I had it all worked out And in the end I'll still be alone
In your eyes And it is no big surprise Safe in my eye sight, open up the EEEeee...
I wanted all of this And in the end I'll still be alone Atop your hills your face Pass me down a look in your eye And in this beaconing You'll be changing just for me Your screaming says that I'm The one in looking out yours...

I don't know what the harmonizations say, though. I think I hear "Each day, Oohhhh...", but maybe "Each day's over...". I'm not sure, and I may be completely wrong.
Albert wrote the song for a school project he had in some sound engineering class or something of the sort. To my understanding, it was just he and Julian recording it. Julian did the vocals, and between the two of them the did the rest of the instruments. And I also heard they used a drum machine. I don't know about all that, but it WAS for one of Albert's assignments and he wrote it.
Have any of you heard the strokes live? Cause...ehm....?! they SUCK!!!! They were So BOOOOORING at roskilde-festival ZzzzZZZZzzzZZZZzzzzzzz
But ok... They are ok NOT live.....
this song is cool. it's very raw, which can be very useful when listening. i do believe there are two versions to this song however. i have them both. the brownies performance is quite different from the recorded version.
