What's Mine Is Yours Lyrics
Sit down, honey, let's kill some time
Rest your head on this heart of mine
Tell me, honey, cause you look so blue...
Just how did they get to you?
Cause I’ve been sold a
Waste of time
I'm gonna spend it
Yours and mine
Someone's in the kitchen
Cooking herats over the stove
Don't lie to me, never say goodbye to me
I don't want to be here alone
Someone's at the front door
Selling Band-Aids for our sores
You can bleed it, as long as they don't see it
I'm not going to be ignored
Come on darling, let's hang around
Let's wreck their precious, their perfect town
If it's all a dirty shame,
I'm gonna do it night and day
Someone's in the kitchen
Cooking herats over the stove
Don't lie to me, never say goodbye to me
I don't want to be here alone
Someone's at the front door
Selling Band-Aids for our sores
You can bleed it, as long as they don't see it
I'm not going to be ignored
Did you ever get the feeling
That you don't belong
Said the teacher in the classroom
I thing there's something wrong
But your desks are too heavy
And your walls are too white
Your rules are all wrong
And it's either run of fight
But I'm still running
I'm still running
Sit down, honey, let's kill some time
Rest your head on this heart of mine
Come on darling, let's hang around
Let's wreck their precious, their perfect town
If it's all a waste of time
I'm gonna spend it
What's yours and mine
Rest your head on this heart of mine
Tell me, honey, cause you look so blue...
Just how did they get to you?

wow barely anyone ever comments on s-k songs..? well anyway, i love this song. especially when corin sings the I'm still running part. haunting.. and hot lol
also the first 2 lines are simply beautiful. man i wish someone would say something like that to me..haha..
i don't know if this is what s-k was going for when they wrote it, but for me it seems to be about being gay in a small town. it's obviously a couple, but everyone seems to be against them. "tell me honey, cuz you look so blue. just how did they, did they get to you?" and also the line "did you ever get the feeling that you don't belong?" but the line that really drew that to my attention was the "come on darling, let's hang around. let's wreck their precious, their perfect town" it's talking about running away from something (persecution?) but then it ends sorta saying, let's hang around and face it cuz we're in this together. "and it's either run or fight" i think that calling it a "dirty shame" or a "waste of time" is what other people say and in the end she's just sort of like fuck you, i'm going to do it anyways just my thoughts... if that's not it, i have no idea.
Yeah, and "you can bleed it as long as they don't see it" is "I don't mind gay people as long as they don't flaunt it." I think it. I love this song.
really one of their best songs, but I don't like the break with the guitar.
neither do I really. I dunno, I'm used to it and I guess it's kind of an appropriate place to have a break because "do you ever get the feeling" sounds different from the rest of the song. But it sounds kind of lame.
i don't think the break sounds lame.. i love it. it's all too familiar to me
i'm pretty sure it's "cooking hearts over the stove," not "herats," even though that's how she sings it
I think the herats is just a typo. Even though I've posted like a zillion times I have to come back and say I love the guitar towards the beginning. (Tell me honey...dur dur dur dur...'cause you look so blue...dur dur dur dur dur dur...) It makes me incredibly happy for some reason.
SO ZEPPELIN.
I love it.
