World Falls Away Lyrics
Must be something they're hiding
Must be reasons that no one will dare to tell
Must be something inside me
But I don't think so anymore
It's hurting again now
And I don't need friends when I have foes like you
It's hurting again now
It's killing me to be here all alone
Go away it's all the same
There's more for me
As the world falls away, and I can't find a reason
As the world turns to grey
It's killing me unwillingly and I am just the same as you
Must be something confided
Must be someway to feel the pain and heal again
Pain and pleasure, inviting
I don't think so anymore
It's hurting again now
And I don't need pills
When I have drugs like you
It's hurting again now
It's killing me to be here all alone
Go away
It's all the same
There's more for me
I'm just like you, just not a fool
I'm just like you
Shut up...
Must be reasons that no one will dare to tell
Must be something inside me
But I don't think so anymore
It's hurting again now
And I don't need friends when I have foes like you
It's hurting again now
It's killing me to be here all alone
Go away it's all the same
There's more for me
As the world turns to grey
It's killing me unwillingly and I am just the same as you
Must be someway to feel the pain and heal again
Pain and pleasure, inviting
I don't think so anymore
It's hurting again now
And I don't need pills
When I have drugs like you
It's hurting again now
It's killing me to be here all alone
Go away
It's all the same
There's more for me
I'm just like you, just not a fool
I'm just like you
Shut up...

It sounds as it was about depression and envy to people wich are just happy "by default"
Must be something they're hiding Must be reasons that no one will dare to tell (He doesn't understand how people is happy) Must be something inside me But I don't think so anymore (There's was a time he tought he was special for being different (sad) but now he realized he isn't, he's just depressed) It's hurting again now And I don't need friends when I have foes like you (He doesn't want friends because no one would understand him) It's hurting again now It's killing me to be here all alone Go away It's all the same There's more for me
As the world falls away, and I can't find a reason As the world turns to grey It's killing me unwillingly and I am just the same as you (It's pretty obvious metaphore for the symtoms of depression)
Must be something confided Must be someway to feel the pain and heal again (The same, he doesn't understand how everyone is happy) Pain and pleasure, inviting I don't think so anymore (Pain and pleasure means life, he can just go and live, but he doesn't care anymore) It's hurting again now And I don't need pills When I have drugs like you (He's addicted to sadness (yes, that can happend))
I'm just like you, just not a fool I'm just like you, just not as cool I'm just like you, just not a fool I'm just like you.... (He's just like everyone else so he doesn't understand why he can't be happy and think it may be because he's too smart and not "cool")
So, yep I related to this a lot in high school
This song could not be about anything else than being excluded from society or a "group" hence your not part of the world, it falls away, and he's saying why hate me? I am just like you, just not a fool, this song is pretty self explanatory,
But then again somehow i could be wrong, I did poke myself in the eye this morning.... that's never a sign of somebody who knows what their talking about....
its like...this...overwhelming want to be accepted but at the same time knowing that you are better off being on the outside...for me anyway...does that make any sence?? this just gives me so much emotion...
Agreed. I think theres also a bit of a Fuck You attitude with the lines "And I don't need friends when I have foes like you" and "Go away it's all the same There's more for me".
Kinda like he pretends he doesn't care but inside he wants to be accepted,
The song is about a falling out. Be it with his peers, a friend, or even a woman (i would be so mad if he wrote another "I lost me girl" song though). The "I'm just like you" segments ARE a screw you to the world. He can't even find a reason to be different, but he is nonetheless. The only thing about it is that he feels there has been a betrayal "I don't need friends when I have foes like you." He sees the world and a traitor and at the same time a high when it accepts him is "I don't need pills when I have drugs like you." he thinks that acceptance would rid him of the need for drugs. Anyways, this is my favorite song on the album and I just wish we could get more people commenting on it.
this is cool song.
loving the a perfect circle influences.
great song
at the end of the chorus at one time though, it goes: im just like you, just not a fool im just like you, just not as cool im just like you, just not a fool im just like you.
Surprisingly creative guitar by Seether...
sounds like someone went to the same highschool as me and wrote a song about it :P It really does sound like that process you go through when people don't accept you and bitch you out, it's like they must all know something about you to be so cold and unaccepting. You want to be accepted but you pretend to not care but secretly you think there must be something about you...until you get older and you realise that isn't the case...they just suck arse :P
It's about the way teenagers go through a phase where all they want is to be in the "popular" group. usually brought on by a crush on a girl and how they dont see why the group wont accept them.
