Savior Lyrics
Until you crash
Until you burn
Until you lie
Until you learn
Until you see
Until you believe
Until you fight
Until you fall
Until the end of everything at all
Until you die
Until you're alive
Don't save me, don't save me
'Cuz I don't care
Don't save me, don't save me
'Cuz I don't care
Until you give
Until you've used
Until you've lost
Until you lose
Until you see
How could you believe?
Until you've lived a thousand times
Until you've seen the other side
This is my chance, this is my chance
Don't save me, don't save me
'Cuz I don't care
Don't save me, don't save me
'Cuz I don't care
Until the truth becomes a lie
Until you change
Until you deny
Until you believe...
This is my chance, this is my chance
I'll take it now because I can
This is my chance, I want it now
Don't save me, don't save me
'Cuz I don't care
Don't save me, don't save me
'Cuz I don't care
Save me
Save me
Save me
Save me
Save me
Save me
I don't care
Until you burn
Until you lie
Until you learn
Until you see
Until you believe
Until you fall
Until the end of everything at all
Until you die
Until you're alive
'Cuz I don't care
Don't save me, don't save me
'Cuz I don't care
Until you've used
Until you've lost
Until you lose
Until you see
How could you believe?
Until you've seen the other side
This is my chance, this is my chance
'Cuz I don't care
Don't save me, don't save me
'Cuz I don't care
Until you change
Until you deny
Until you believe...
I'll take it now because I can
This is my chance, I want it now
'Cuz I don't care
Don't save me, don't save me
'Cuz I don't care
Save me
Save me
Save me
Save me
Save me
I don't care

Well to me, it sounds like he is saying, that he doesnt need the help of someone who hasnt been in his situation. You have no idea what it is like, so why even attempt to try on something you have no idea about.
He doesnt care about what you think, cause if he cant do it himself, then why even try, that isnt the point of life, you need to do it yourself, or you can never do it yourself.
But that is just what I think.
I wasn't there but I saw the video for it. Whenever 30STM preformed Savior @ Pinkpop i believe it opened with "you people have done everything in the world to me doesn't that give me equal right ?" Which is a Charles Manson quote, right ? What if the song is about a guy who has pretty much gotten screwed over by the world and is to the point of just not caring anymore? What of hes lived his life and has gotten nothing out of it? What if hes tired of the state the world or his world is in ?
plus i have a lyric question. i cant remeber where i got these from but it makes since to me too.
"Until you’ve lived a thousand times UNTIL YOU"VE SEEN IN YOUR LOVERS EYES This is my chance, this is my chance!"
I'm kinda disappointed if thats not the line, it was a personal fav. :(
oh, and does anybody else who has the CD version have an intro to it? mine is Shannon Jared and Tomo saying :
you always do that too i know i dont know why you have a conviction and i appreciate that sometimes conviction can lead to stubborness
what is that ^ about ?
I think this song really is opened to interpretation. My interpretation ( I do understand the religious and depressed suggestions) is that it is all about being lost as a person. Not knowing who you really are and what you are meant to do with your life.
It's all about experiencing life - and until that is being done you won't feel as if you belong and fulfilled (This is my chance, this my my chance I'll take it now because I can).
"Don't save me", is not a cry for help but a stance against doing it on your own - whatever happens, happens.
"save me" is the realisation that life won't make sense alone. How can you believe, how can you have faith, how can you really feel like you've lived until you've reached out to those around you?
My take on it....it's about religion. He's saying why live for someone else, someone you can't even be sure exists. Why put so much stock in faith rather than what you yourself can do and be. This is his chance at life and he's going to make the most of it, his way.
No its not. Every single song Leto has wrote is about the same thing. Purpose in life. Look at what all of them have in common. It is the opposite of your response, he has found himself.

Depression followed by contemplating suicide possibly? He's thinkign of killing himself, and he knows that most people don't understand why they would want to kill themselves. But when you're depressed, you don't really care and feel numb inside, for lack of another way of saying it. Anyways, he's hit rock bottom and killing himself is the only way/chance out.
However, the last part where he repeates "save me"...err..i unno? =P
Great song. One of the best on the album in my opinion. It's hard to pin an exact meaning on this song if there is one. All of the above could be right.
i agree with sashley but at at the end wie he repeates "save me" i feel taht he is soo far into his problem that he doesnt care what you do just try and help him get outa his hole, at first all the help wasnts helping but now he has nowhere to go exept to the only ones trying to save him.. its waht i get
it could be what the first comment says,
but I agree with lyverus more. and its evident from the first couple of seconds of the song, when they say "you always do that, he's always so sure about something, you have conviction and I appreciate that" which means at the end when he's saying save me save me, it means he wanted to die, and then he realized he didnt want to in the end.
but then again maybe he wants to die because of the first comments idea of the girl. who knows.
great song either way.
Obviously has religious aspects, but not really about it, more using it as an analogy. Generally about people who are self-assured in assistance.
I think when he repeats "save me" at the end, his is mocking the idea of a Savior because he still doesn't care
