Did we create a modern myth?
Did we imagine half of it?
What happened then, a thought from now?
Save yourself, save yourself

The secret is out (x2)

To buy the truth and sell a lie
The last mistake before you die
So don't forget to breathe tonight
Tonight's the last, so say goodbye

The secret is out (x2)

Goodbye (x17)

    My Interpretation

The song is obviously about saying goodbye. But I believe it can be interpreted as saying goodbye to an idea you believed in for so long. Now you understand it was just imagination and you have to say goodbye.

Did we create a modern myth Did we imagine half of it What happened then, a thought for now Save yourself. save yourself. A secret is out

First you had a dream, which you believed but the truth comes hard, and you can't run away from it (save yourself!).

Although you try to bend around this new insight, you know you can't deny it any longer. To buy the truth And sell a lie The last mistake Before you die A secret is out

And you know the day came you have to admit the truth and say goodbye to the dream you had. No longer lie to yourself.

So don't forget to breath tonight Tonight's the last So say goodbye

    Goodbye

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
