I love this song. It seems like a girl broke up with a guy, and he still cares about her, so he plans on doing anything he can do to distance her from him to protect her. I think that's what the song is about, but it's very pretty and I adore it.

i absolutely love this song. i cant believe nobody else posted. i think its about a girl who broke up with him for a second time and hes saying that hes sick of the feeling of heartbreak so hes considering "taking her out of his life." so to speak.

My ex just played me this song last night, and I had to read the lyrics before I really understood what he meant. I think it's about pain as well as confusion, and not necessarily "wanting her back" but still wanting to protect her, like Drowner said. And maybe she doesn't understand, because even in the song, he says he can't express how he feels.

Lyrics arent totally right.. Personally I think this is about a guy and his girlfriend who had a big fight (your words rip and tear through my heart so weak an pure), but the guy still loved her, but before they could make up she died (hence the If only this pain, this pain die too.. line) and without her he can't really get over her because they ended on bad terms.. An he loved her.. So he decides to break her away.. An finally get back to his life.. Which hes been missing.. (this freak I became.. My enemy.. from my angel to my enemy) From the girl that he loved and made his life better to something thats slowly killing him. I might be overanalyzing this but those are my thoughts

I love this song!! It is so amazing, espcially the Chorus. "I bleed for the second time tonight" I'm gonna guess he's really hurt or something, this song is obviously about a relationship, maybe a break up.

Most everybody seems to agree with Drowner, but I'm afraid that I have to disagree. I absolutely agree that the song is about a breakup and he still has feelings for her, but his desire to "break (her) away" is not altruistic or selfless; he wishes to break her away from his own heart to end his agony. In actuality, the song sees him alone later in the night after the breakup, and he is self-injuring. This is the "second time" that he bleeds that night; the first is emotionally when she breaks up with him. This is consistent with another point in the song when he wishes "if only this pain died, too." He is trying to kill his pain (many or most self-injurers do so because they feel that the physical pain removes, reduces, or heals emotional pain). Incidentally, when he sings this line, the "too" refers to the fact that one other thing has died that night, their relationship. With regards to Tophster's suggestion that the girl died, this is not supported by the fact that the thing that died previously died that same night and, more tellingly, that it's only her words that rip and tear, and not also her death.
