Part of the Queue Lyrics
Suddenly I found that I've lost my way in the city
The streets and the thousands of colors all bleed into one
I fall down, heaven won't help me
I call out, no one would hear
All of a sudden, I've lost my way out of the city
Stand tall, stand proud
Every beginning is breaking its promise
I'm having trouble just finding some soul in this town
Things on the faces in places they mean nothing to me
It's all they can do to be part of the queue in this town
I fall down, heaven won't help me
I call out, no one would hear
Be no tomorrow they say what I say was the pity
Stand tall, stand proud
Every beginning has broken its promise
I'm having trouble just finding my soul in this town
Stand tall, stand proud
Every beginning has broken its promise
I'm having trouble just finding my soul in this town
Finding my soul in this town
Keep on trying
Keep on trying
Keep on trying
Keep on trying
Keep on trying
Keep on trying
Keep on trying
Keep on trying
Keep on
The streets and the thousands of colors all bleed into one
I call out, no one would hear
All of a sudden, I've lost my way out of the city
Every beginning is breaking its promise
I'm having trouble just finding some soul in this town
It's all they can do to be part of the queue in this town
I call out, no one would hear
Be no tomorrow they say what I say was the pity
Every beginning has broken its promise
I'm having trouble just finding my soul in this town
Every beginning has broken its promise
I'm having trouble just finding my soul in this town

This song is basically about noel going to buy a pint of milk near his home in london, and feeling like a nobody, and how we can all feel overawed by life in a big city sometimes. Good, but a BLATANT ripp off of the stranglers!
There seems to be this underlying motif in the new Oasis album related to "soul"...it just seems a bit unusual that three of my four favorite songs on this album have the word "soul" in them (Let There Be Love - Who stole the soul from the sun, Importance of Being Idle - I sold my soul for the second time and Part of the Queue - I'm having trouble just finding some soul in this town). Weird. I really like the lyrics to this song too...the great thing about their new songs is that I can just so visualize this and all their other songs.
oh and how could i forget about Meaning of SOUL...hmmmm
Definitely the best song on the new album without a doubt. Oasis seem to have stepped into a whole new genre the catchy drum loop and the excellent guitar riff to match display Oasis have definitely evolved
I think there's a "I dont belong here" feeling and me too I try to find my soul in the city but it seems to be somewhere else. The city can be very depressing and affecting to me sometimes. Weird but I can't get used to my own city even though I've lived here forever. And I also search a soul in the city, that's what I do while the long walks, wandering around alone, sitting and watching the passers by in a park, on the bus, in a shop, .... Sometimes I catch a little glimpse but it generally ends up in frustration. So to me this song helps me express the undirectable anger and frustration to my city, where's the soul in it? I think I don't belong to my city, I'll keep serching.
I need somewhere like this maybe:) http://papercut.europe2blog.fr/photos/uncategorized/franz20ferdinand3_1.jpg
or somewhere greener... I don't know.
Noel says on an interview on the DVD that he was buying a pint of milk, and the line was really long, and there were 10 aisles but only one was open with some old lady going slower than ass. So he got fed up being "part of the queue" and jacked the milk. The rest of the song is kind of built off that line... loneliness... soullessness...
this song is so wonderful - and is very catchy and uplifting :)
@jcphoenix well.. what do you think about the word heaven? that word is in lyla, part of the queue and in let there be love.. even maybe in more songs but i dont know..
Well heaven, soul both to do with after life and death....all i can get
I don't get this song - can someone tell me where the goodness of this song lies? I can't really stand it to tell the truth. There's nothing in this song that catches on. The solo, is quite nice, but elsewise, it's not much to say. Worst song on the album.
