Mutherfucker Lyrics
Yo homey don't play that game
Hey mister asshole what's your dirty hassle
Sitting in your castle judging everyone
You're acting like it's chill when the deal's getting ill
Why don't you break your face on my head
Everyone's out to get you motherfucker
Everyone's out to get you motherfucker
Total paranoia trying to annoy you
Everything i do is to try and fuck you up
Screwdrivers drillin' and I was such a spasm
Dropped yourself on the situation, dude
Everyone's out to get you motherfucker
Sitting in your castle judging everyone
You're acting like it's chill when the deal's getting ill
Why don't you break your face on my head
Everyone's out to get you motherfucker
Everything i do is to try and fuck you up
Screwdrivers drillin' and I was such a spasm
Dropped yourself on the situation, dude

there is NO smoke without fire, no-one in this world causes their own problems there is always someone else involved too. if someone lived on a planet all of their own then yes maybe they would cause their own problems. but define what 'causing their own problems' means, their must be someone there to witness this unfortunate person causing their own problems. its funny cos i like the song but it also frustrates me as the lyrics seem to be an attack at someone, i think if beck in this song or people in general scoff and mock people who suffer paranoia, whether he is being sarcastic or not or just taking the p**s. if feel this is a sensitive subject to be overtly insensitive about. sorry peeps just thought i would share my views on this song and some of your observations and judgements. no doubt beck is a musical genius just thought that the lyrics to this song could be misinterpreted by someone who is suffering from mental health problems. but this is just my humble and probably overly sensitive thought on the subject, there is that old saying just because you think the world is out to get you does not mean they are not out to get you, another insensitive thing to say to someone who is paranoid oh well maybe im thinking too deeply ;)
This song is fucking amazing. Definately one of my favourite Beck songs. I was going about school singing it in the halls and actually got in trouble because my stupid institutionalized high school doesn't like the filth that I am putting into the school environment. So I secretly wrote the anarchy symbol on all the desks.
Beck=Best ever
Once again, I am first to post on a great Beck song. You know its really not healthy how this makes me feel, LOL. JK, but not much. this reminds me of someone I work with.. its perfect for people who cause their own problems and paranoia. Freakin genius as usual!
btw, its "Yo, homey don't play that" from In Living Color. AHYEAHHHH
lots of people cause their own problems and paranoia, but when things really are troubling and creepy, it's more freaky when people act like nothing is wrong.

i guess music is a good catharsis for this.

yeah the song is probably about some jerk that causes his own problems...
but i see it as a satire on metal/industrial music.
it's not to be taken seriously. but this isn't exactly a serious cd, anyway.
i think this song is beck being sarcastic towards someone who thinks the world is out to get them, and i love it yay beck
I tend to think that this song is about a over-paranoid drug dealer (as most of them are). Particularly because he says "The deal is getting ill." Plus, the line "everything i do is to try and fuck you up!" makes sense to my theory because drug dealers are often paranoid that their friends/customers are constantly talking behind their backs in order to get them in trouble...
wow... yeah not to be taken seriously. Prolly not someone who has a mental health problem persay, but someone who thinks that everything is about them or something? Lots of people are like that.
This song's meaning is obvious to me. It's about a jerk who Beck and everyone else hates, and wants to cause trouble. I doubt this person suffers from paranoia (I doubt Beck would be that insensitive), instead, I think Beck is trying to frighten this "Mutherfucker", so that he will go away and leave everyone alone. I absolutely love this song. MELLOW GOLD ROCKS!!!!
Never noticed the Homey D.clown reference ! Beck is great

If all the haters were really better than the troublemaker, then why wouldn't they just ask him to leave?

You cause trouble so I'm going to scare you? Doesn't make sense on either a strategic or personal (moral) level.

Sounds like his truckdrivin' neighbor downstairs (too sped up, but hey, him momma likes the stuff, too [check out her interview about her Factory days]).

BTW this song is great to play when you are in your car and it's a warm day and the windows are rolled down....(brings back memories lol)
Anyways to me this song is about someone who annoys you. I also think it's directed at the "Truck driving neighbors downstairs", but that might be a stretch. Since all the songs on this album are basically jokes and sarcastic.. with great imagery.
It's a rant at somebody who thinks Beck's out to get him.
