The Christmas Song Lyrics
All the lights are coming on now
How I wish that it would snow now
I don't feel like going home now
I wish that I could stay
All the trees are on display now
And its cold now
I don't feel like going home now
I wish that I could stay
I wish that I could walk
I wish that I could walk
You home
All the lights are coming on now
How I wish that it would snow now
I don't feel like going home now
I wish that I could stay
Santa's coming to town
With his suitcase in his hands
Santa's coming to town
With his suitcase in his hands
How I wish that it would snow now
I don't feel like going home now
I wish that I could stay
And its cold now
I don't feel like going home now
I wish that I could stay
I wish that I could walk
You home
How I wish that it would snow now
I don't feel like going home now
I wish that I could stay
With his suitcase in his hands
Santa's coming to town
With his suitcase in his hands

I think it's actually "Santa's coming to town/With his suitcase in his hands".
This is a great song.
I agree about the lyrics not being quite right at that bit. Anyway, this is by far the best Christmas song anybody could ever hope to hear.
Somehow, these two are able to convey such wonderful feelings with simple words and relatively simple melodies. This song makes me happy and nostalgic; it's eerily pretty and comforting at the same time. I've reading "sequins in his hair," in a few places, but I think "suitcase" is definitely more logical. Either way, great song.
This is my favorite christmas song... well next to Father Christmas by The Kinks. I'd consider that a noteworthy feat.
This tune is really really similar to the 1962 Shirelles song "Soldier Boy." An interesting update!
nice song:D
I think I heard on an interview they wrote this about being in college and not wanting to leave school to go home for Christmas. Great song!
