This song is love. I adore it.
Personally, I think that this song makes a lot of sense. It's just another way of someone saying that there's no way to define love. He's saying the no matter how much he says, even if he spews endless amounts of poetry, nothing will be able to capture the feelings within him, and, if he tried (which he plans on), it would all sound lame and cliche no matter what.
The SoCo reference, I think, is just pushing the fact that he could be as original and poetic as he'd like, but even the words to her favorite song couldn't sum up what he was feeling.
"If time would stop, how could I make this more poetic?" seems to me to be him saying that he doesn't want the moment to slip through his fingers because, if he could think of the right words, he could make it absolutely beautiful.
But the person who he'd be spouting prose to is pretty much a person who pulled him out of his shell and made him happy. ("You bring me out, show me light") However, he sometimes goes back to being the insecure person he is ("I'm sorry if I hide"), and that line could also mean that he's not pursuing his feelings because he's scared that they'll be even deeper than he thinks.
"I would tame the stars and save the brightest one for you." That line seems really cheesy (like the pick up line "your daddy must be a theif, 'cause he stole the stars and put 'em in your eyes" or whatever), but it's also impossible- even so, if it would show the person how much he felt, he'd do it.
The second verse just seems to be his saying "Be completely honest with me", for whatever reason he may have. ("Just as long as there's no doubt.")
"Our wish each time keeps me returning to you night after night..." This entire part seems to just be his way of saying that he wants, and knows that the person also wants, to see eachother, so they keep coming back to the cliche setting of a night under the stars because that's so poetic, yet cheesy (and thus pathetic). The "Lift me up..." part seems to be his saying that just being with this person makes him feel so great about himself and the world that he could fly/soar.
Overall, this song is saying that love is an incredibly confusing, cheesy, indescribable, complex feeling, but it's pretty amazing. :D

This song is hot. It was the first song I hear by Amber Pacific.. and I only heard of it because I knew it had a Something Corporate reference in it (Reference to a song you love, spell confusion with a K - from Konstantine) Im not 100% what the songs about.. I guess it's just about not knowing the right words to say to a girl, and how everything you say just sounds really lame..

i luv this song 2. i can kinda relate cauz i kinda am a poet who is sorta pathetic. u kno what is pathetic? nobody knows about Amber Pacific! it annoys me so much! :P had this song stuck in my head all day. i think its about being stuck trying to transcend that barrier between friendship and relationship...there's so much good times you like about being friends, and you kinda want it to go further, but you don't know how to put it in words...you don't know if you "say goodbye" to the good times by taking that risk, and just wish you could say all those things...
this describes the way i feel sometimes so perfectly...almost "san dimas" status...
