Hold Me (Make Believe Version) Lyrics
I am
terrified of all things
frightened of the dark
I am
you are
taller than a mountain
deeper than the sea
you are
hold me
hold me
take me with you cause I'm lonely
I was
closer to you back then
I was happier
I was
you are
fading further from me
why don't you come home
to me
hold me
hold me
take me with you cause I'm lonely
I am
I am cold
hold me
[guitar solo]
hold me
hold me
take me with you cause I'm lonely
hold me
hold me
take me with you cause I'm lonely
hold me
hold me
terrified of all things
frightened of the dark
I am
taller than a mountain
deeper than the sea
you are
hold me
take me with you cause I'm lonely
closer to you back then
I was happier
I was
fading further from me
why don't you come home
to me
hold me
take me with you cause I'm lonely
I am cold
hold me
hold me
take me with you cause I'm lonely
hold me
take me with you cause I'm lonely
hold me

this song is pretty sweet. i love the new album. rock on.
I really liked this song back when it was just a wee little acoustic demo, in what, 2003? Anyway, I was pretty eager to hear what they had done to it, upon hearing it was going to be on the album. I was blessed to hear it live just about a week before the cd came out, and perhaps the live atmosphere played into it, but it just gave me shivers. It's really got an epic feel to it.
Easily the best track on Make Believe. It ranks up there with some of my favorite Weezer tracks from Blue & Pinkerton. It just has an aura that brings back the feeling I get from listening to some of their classics. Simple and beautiful, that's Rivers at his best.

Well, I don't like it all that much. They sound like Saybia. (Danish band that no one here has probably heard about. Known for just playing songs that are whining and overly melancolic.) Still, Weezer is lightyears better than them, even on this one, but here (and on some others on Make Believe) they sound like them. Which is starting to annoy me.
this is really the only thing worthwhile from make believe. i think between their last 3 CDs, weezer has one longish EP's worth of fucking great music and a ton of, very sadly, crap. this song doesnt make up for the rest of make believe, but it does make me belive that somewhere inside of him, rivers can still make music i love.
this song was in-fucking-credible live. i highly recommend trying to catch weezer while they tour this summer.
this song reminds me of a haiku because how sparing intro is with the guitars and how the words are simple and short, but really convey an idea: regret that there was a past time when the speaker was happier. most of this songs meaning is in its simplicity.
oh yeah, i almost forgot. i would love to hear an acoustic version of this song, does anyone know where (or if) i can find one?

Who is taller than a mountain and deeper than a sky? God Rivers is definitely searching in my book.
this makes me think of a child... like singing to like a parent... but i'm really bad with lyrics so idk
