Shine

The way I read this is as a struggle between two states within himself. He's feeling lost and clouded, imperfect and muddled, but he knows there's a shining, electric being inside of him. As he reaches out for it, he's ultimately unsuccessful and is being dragged back down into knowledge that he'll never be that perfect shining being, that he's boring and worthless just like everyone else.

Will someone tell me what the fuck this song is about? I love it to death, but I'm completely clueless.

i believe the shine reference is to diamonds, cos a 'clouded' diamond is menat to be worth less than a clear one which makes sense in terms of this song.

so basicaly it's like someones tell him he's like a clouded diamond. that he aint worth shit and that he's fuckin boring.

For me, it seems to be about somebody who tells you how to do things despite being imperfect themselves. Bit of a longshot I suppose, but the concept of nobody being perfect shines (ha!) through.
