Why isnt anyone saying anything? This is a pretty cool song, it's pretty much about having someone in your thaughts while they are gone. Anyone catch the performance on SNL? it was pretty good.

I think this song is actualy about drugs, just like most of josh's love songs. Like the bit "Only a line, we separate" as in making lines and "We collide for one embrace" meaning hes peaking and also many other lines. Just think about it and you will see.

I heard this music for the first time in Need for Speed: Underground 2, it took me 8 years to understand the meaning of this music.

"It's the cruelest joke to play I'm so high, I run in place Only a line, we separate, so..."

This means he started to have a mental breakdown since his girlfriend broke up with him, and the "Line they separated" mean they have gone to separate ways.

The man puts the song which best represented the couple, and he turned the volume higher when she had gone and she means a very important thing to him and he needs her.

She was the only thing he had in his bad days and he wants to hug her to feel better.

It means that he believes he will not have a new chance to see her again.

Even with all the things happening above, he still wants her and now.

The real reason i could understand this music is because i am in a very similar situation.

yeah, i agree too, drugs. it's an awesome song to listen to anytime. KornOfTheStoneAge- they were great on SNL, but didn't the guy who sings mess up on the guitar solo for little sister (i don't know his name)?

Ever had a song that suits your relationship perfectly? This is the song, for that song. When you break up, your likely to do mushy shit like play it non stop. I dont think its referring to drugs at all. When you break up with someone thoughts of them ususally fill your head 24/7. And playing 'your song' gives you some sort of sad relief.

I saw them live last september and Josh said before he sang this song, and I quote " here's a song about fucking"
