[Refrain]
Days Pass and
Time Goes on and on
You might think my skin
was strong enough
but there's something you don't understand
I'm porcelain
I'm porcelain

You know that if I could
You know that sky looks over the sea
I don't think there's one thing in this world
that'll make you notice me
you can wield that sword in any direction you damn well please
you don't understand that my heart is in your hands
and I'm beggin you not to
squeeze
Please don't Squeaze

[Verse 1]
I was ruined in the seventh grade
the pain never changed and went away
the memories ingrained like it was yesterday
They're Tellin me I'm crazed
because I blessed her name
A steady Gaze
to sweat her frame
If life was just a play
then she was centre stage
Sent her letter pages on a daily basis
That her friends passed
So if she asked there's no way to trace this
She was the reigning queen of Junior high
and I was faceless
Painting things on bracelets
And even looked graceful in plaided braces
I hate to say this but my aim was wasted
so I trained my heart for seven years
but she remained in basics
leading the same parade of babes to places
swearing I held a space in her heart
but every semester she barely could place me
yet I waited and displayed my patience
even ignored the statements of positive advice
and the cases of shaky situations
but she never associated me to hit relations
with baited breath I was still a breakage
like procelain

[Refrain]
Days Pass and
Time Goes on and on
You might think my skin
was strong enough
but there's something you don't understand
I'm porcelain
I'm porcelain

[verse 2]
With my hormones racin
praying for a date on summer vacation
around the time when your body is under renovation
you know when nothin really fits
and the girls get vulgar
start lookin for older affiliates
I held a silly wish in my mind
that she's willingly kiss these lips
But I won't get frisky
I get the feeling she dissed me
I'm still in a risky position
itchin to head a decision
I must up the ambition
and make the proposition
desperation became my religion
the same way you envision
cynics findin jesus caged in a prison
Visiting hours consisted of English lit and diction
History quizzes on christians and mr Richard Nixon
Transfixed on her smile
just like the other 50 guys she hypnotised
I guess I'm another stickler for pretty eyes
I minimised my obsession
never made the confession
even evaded her presence at the graduation procession
it was a decision I later regretted
wonderin what I coulda said
and would itta swept her away if I'd said it
step and repeat and edit
my thoughts clashed
but I regained my lost chance
the very day we crossed paths again
I revelled in the opportunity
asked her to go dancin
baskin in this confidence that was new to me
and it worked beautifully
a wild night became a quiet ride home
as I broke the silence her eyes roamed
seven years of frustration and here her ears felt abrasion
as I laced her with my tale of lost years in anticipation
Her reaction was a face of fakeness
told me she was flattered but within her tone lack of any amazement
It seems she heard it all before
I realised then her popularities what I wanted her for
I tried to be strong as she hopped out the door
but even the hardest hearts break when they're dropped on the floor
Like Porcelain

[Refrain]
Days Pass and
Time Goes on and on (that's love)
You might think my skin(so hard to let go sometimes)
was strong enough
but there's something you don't understand (but you gotta move on)
I'm porcelain (you can break your own heart)
I'm porcelain

Days Pass and
Time Goes on and on (uh-uh)
You might think my skin
was strong enough (not strong enough)
but there's something you don't understand
I'm porcelain
I'm porcelain

Cos in the end
Days Pass and (just little boys with scarred hearts from girls who think they older than they really are)
Time Goes on and on(just little boys with scarred hearts from girls who think they older than they really are)
You might think my skin (just little girls with scarred hearts from boys who think they older than they really are)
was strong enough
but there's something you don't understand (just little Kids with scarred hearts from other little kids)
I'm porcelain
I'm porcelain

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
