Ok.. but more in depth. He's gonna become a singing, she's gonna go to college. He's decided that they're gonna have sex before she leaves. He questions whether or not he should pursue a music career. I mean... will it get him somewhere far away from home?
Its actually possible that just the lines "I'm gonna give it away to you, I thought I'd hold for something more but i can't wait" is actually being said from the girl, but i'm not sure.
i think this song is about the pressures of one-night-stand sex. parts of this song suggest he doesn't want to do it, but other parts are telling him to. he probably just wants to forget everything else and do it, but something's telling him not to. yet in the end, he gives up and gives in.
