" makes ton of sense if you think really deeply about the lyrics

Altough you could relate this song to sex or whatever, it really makes sense as sort of a sarcastic song to their friend "Well it's yours you can have it if it means that much to you" what they are saying is they are sick of this guys constant complaining about this band so heres our stereotypical run of the mill hardcore song for you.

The Next two verses just speak about conformity to the hardcore genre, and as this guy sits at his computer and types all this garbage about ACB they won't do anything.

Then the third verse is really their hit at the guy "let it be known that this is what you'll get for falling out of line, and no one wins against the machine, so get back in line" basically saying you know you can say all the garbage you want bet no one is going to be The perfect hardcore band, (Sorry i forgot to mention i think "The Machine" is your stereotypical hardcore genre music).

And lastly as it was mentioned from lovesoamazing. The very last verse is the closest thing ACB has to a break down. and they are finally giving into having a breakdown but they throw in a tongue in cheek "Are you a man now, cause you got what you wanted" so after all this complaining that these guys aren't "real hardcore" they have a breakdown in the song.

I love this song and ACB, They are truly an amazing group with/without TJ. I often find myself just really getting into their music even in my room ill just throw my hands up and start to worship. These guys capture the real essence of what Christian Hardcore/screamo/Post-hardcore whatever you want to call it is. Passion and Chaos..Love it

After listening to this song for the thousandth time—some 16 years later—on a super stoned night in June, I can’t help but realize that this song is essentially about succumbing to one’s will and expectations.

More specifically, in regards to the year 2021, it’s as if no one is capable of having their own opinion anymore… or “voice” (See music video).

If you express one opinion then you’re labeled “X”, and if you express a different opinion, then you’re labeled “Y”. There is no tolerance for different voices… you’re better off silenced.

And—per the lyrics & tone of the song—one senses anger, frustration, and sarcasm in regards to succumbing to societal expectations “the machine”.

“You can have it…” “Turn me into…someone more like yourself” “….I swear not to scream at my becoming part of the machine”

(Referring to the singer’s succumbing to society’s will to be silenced)

“Let it be known that this is what you get for falling out of line…no one wins against the machine, so get back in line”

(Referring to the idea that there is no beating the majority/society/“machine”, and that speaking out only brings more trouble)

“Are you the man now?”

(More a rhetorical question since the singer has been silenced by the end of the song: Is society truly better off this way? Well let’s hope so, because it’s too late now)

AAHHHH. I love this song. Especially the chorus part.

video is awesome too, can't quite fully understand it but in the video seems like people are being made to keep silent

it seemed like they showed posters about peoples certain propaganda and pushing it on other. I think thats wat the song mean't.

This is indeed an awesome song, both musically and lyrically. It took me a while to interpret the lyrics, but I finally think I have something worth noting.

This song is basically a battle between the singer's sinful, fleshly desires (bloodsucker) and the desires of the Holy Spirit.

"stretch me out across the table turn my insides out turn me into someone else someone more like yourself"

The singer wants to be transformed from his sinful self into someone who reflects God.

"stretch me out bother not with ties, i promise to lie perfectly still i swear not to scream at my becoming part of the machine"

Here, the singer states that he is willing to go through the painful process of letting God destroy his flesh and replace it with something that God has intended.

In the video, I think the doctor in the operating room is symbolic for God, and he seems to be doing some kind of operation on the mouth. I think the cover over the mouth of the people in the video is representative of sin, and the doctor is removing it. You will notice the posters in the video seem to be propoganda saying things like "silence."

I may be wrong, but that is what I get from this song.

oh man, i love thins song and i jsut read wat surrendered wrote and it makes totoal sence. It is the same exact thing i am going through right now. It is hard letting go of all ur sins and ungodly things u enjoy. Music and movies that dont reflect god and his purpose and guys and you kno everything. Aswell as conforming to god and his love is hard. Trying to be like him as hard as u can but there is still an urge for the things u r giving up to god and trying to let go of. It is a hard process.

This song is so great i love the way this song before this corrisponds with this one. great songs great band

i haven't seen the video, but for the meaning that surrendered said, how does "becoming part of the machine" fit? and also the get back in line part, it doesnt make much sense

seems simple enough..

= i give up, evil wins [whoever this 'evil' might be] the person accepts evil and is asking to be part of it.

and..

"let it be known that this is what you'll get for falling out of line no one wins against the machine so get back in line"

= the evil explaining i ALWAYS win. now FOLLOW ME!

"are you the man now that you got what you wanted are you the man now that you got it"

= could be the person just changed, almost taunting the 'evil' saying like, you happy now? you've won!?'

now i chose to use 'evil' but it can be anything you want really say..a bitchy girlfriend trying to change you.. or idk whatever...

but thats just me thinkin'
