I don't think this song just refers to a parent child relationship. I think this song is just to reasure that no worries I'll be there. That we'll have each other, just run to me... which could be between a couple, bestfriends, or family. This is a really beautiful song as are most Dredg songs.
This song is about the relationship between this person and a parent. It seems like a bad thing to watch the child move off on their own, but in the end its better for both of them this way. The chorus is him saying that no matter what happens, they always have each other.

It's about the brokenness of life, love, and all that surrounds us. This song is the "broken" versus the "unbreakable".
Even though it is so cliche, I think this is just a differently done love song. The "set sail on a ship built from trust, set sail on a ship for us" kind of thing makes me think that. While it COULD very well be about a parent-child relationship it just doesnt strike me that way.

IM really not sure but i think the girl at the end is suppose to represent his daughter.. so its very clear to the meaning, i just am not sure if he has a daughter LOl
To me this song is about fucking up in life and coming close to losing a significant other. Then realizing that he needs to change his ways in order to keep that significant other.
