Remove my hands and feet
Watch me crawl on my stubs
Throw me to the street
Watch me fall on down head first

It's not that simple
I've needed this from the start
To guide my way
To be okay
It's made life simple
I've needed this from the start to wake up

If all else fails
If all turns to dust
Set sail on a ship built from trust
If all else fails
And all starts to rust
Set sail on a ship built for us

Its time to retreat
I sawed it down to the bone
The canyons are too deep yeah
Decided to run like a child
Decided to run to rescue
It took too long to wake up

If all else fails
If all turns to dust
Set sail on a ship built from trust
If all else fails
And all starts to rust
Set sail on a ship built for us

It's not that simple
I've needed this from the start
To guide my way
To be okay
It's made life simple
I've needed this from the start to wake up

If all else fails
If all turns to dust
Set sail on a ship built from trust
If all else fails
And all starts to rust
Set sail on a ship built for us
For us, for us

I don't think this song just refers to a parent child relationship. I think this song is just to reasure that no worries I'll be there. That we'll have each other, just run to me... which could be between a couple, bestfriends, or family. This is a really beautiful song as are most Dredg songs.

This song is about the relationship between this person and a parent. It seems like a bad thing to watch the child move off on their own, but in the end its better for both of them this way. The chorus is him saying that no matter what happens, they always have each other.

Really a nice song and I'm suprised no one else has commented on it

It's about the brokenness of life, love, and all that surrounds us. This song is the "broken" versus the "unbreakable".

Even though it is so cliche, I think this is just a differently done love song. The "set sail on a ship built from trust, set sail on a ship for us" kind of thing makes me think that. While it COULD very well be about a parent-child relationship it just doesnt strike me that way.

yes i agree with the parent and child be let out into the world idea, it makes sense in the first verse clearly.

IM really not sure but i think the girl at the end is suppose to represent his daughter.. so its very clear to the meaning, i just am not sure if he has a daughter LOl

To me this song is about fucking up in life and coming close to losing a significant other. Then realizing that he needs to change his ways in order to keep that significant other.

Remove my hands and feet Watch me crawl On my stubs Throw me to the street Watch me fall on Down head first

The first verse (to me) means that he's desperate for help and doesn't care what others think of him.

It's not that simple But I've needed this from the start To guide my way You will be ok (I think it's "to be ok") It has made life simple I have needed this from the start To wake up

The second means that he has fallen so hard that he realizes his mistakes. It's like he learned something about himself.

If all else fails If all turns to dust Set sail On a ship built from trust If all else fails When all starts to rust Set sail On a ship built for us

This to me, is him trying to gain that someone back.

It's time to retreat I have sawed it down to the bone The canyons are too deep Yeah I decided to run like a child Then decided to run to rescue It took too long To wake up

    Again, realizing his mistakes

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Page

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
