Morning Sting Lyrics

Here I lie awake,
more than blood runs through these veins, these veins.
It's just a case of morning sting.
Well, take this idle mind and fill it what you will,
you search, you find
a fatal case of morning sting

Well watch him as he goes
living in a golden afternoon that I'll never know.

Burn me, give me praise,
whatever is convenient to arrange,
oh, bring it to me on a string
while coveting a remedy that only love can bring.
My disease is just a case of morning sting.

Well, watch him as he goes
living in a golden afternoon that I'll never know.

Picture perfect, she'll follow his icy politic,
can't cut a girl.
And brrr, cover me now, I'm bare in these dirty sheets.
Get out, get out, get out and find me some piece.
It's just a case of, it's just a case of,
it's just a case of

Ohhh, Ohhh, Ohhh,
morning sting.

Cover art for Morning Sting lyrics by Vanessa Carlton

Vanessa has said that this song is about the "raw emotions she feels in the morning" or something like that.

After listening to a pretty clear online version on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tgu_Vey2M9g... I think the line goes "Can't cut a girl in bloom" and then the "cover me now part" is totally a separate thought...
