Do I just let go - turn my head say “no”?
Should I go with the flow - try to take control (control)?
Would it be alright if I tried to deny- the Ghost of my life
I don’t feel so right (not so right).

Emotion, who are you?
Emotion, who are you?

Through darkness or light - You’ll see me through
Instill in me- what I feel in you

These lyrics I scream - falling down on me
These visions and dreams - what’s this I see (in me)?
Are you inside my bones - 'cause I feel you strong
Everywhere I turn, Omipresent Ghost (you are a ghost)

Emotion who are you?

Subseven is a Christian band, and as a Christian myself, I interpret this song to being the internal conflict we experience as believers to follow the flesh (our selfish desires) or follow the Spirit (God speaking to our spirits by The Holy Ghost).

“Should I just let go - Turn my head say “no” Should I go with flow - Try to take control”

God asks us to deny ourselves (just let go, go with the flow of the Spirit leading us)

“Would it be alright if I tried to deny the Ghost in my life, I don’t feel so right (not so right)”

God gives everyone the free choice to follow His way or our own. As believers when we follow our own way, and live after the flesh, the Spirit convicts our hearts. As we might find satisfaction in the flesh for the moment, there is that little voice in our hearts that convicts us, and then after the flesh is satisfied, there is deep sorrow knowing that we sinned and denied the voice of the Holy Ghost leading us the right way and in doing so have added to the stripes and wounds Jesus Experienced dying on the cross for those sins.

“Through darkness or light - You’ll see me though, Instill in me - what I feel in You”

God is faithful to forgive us and does not give up on us. This is a prayer asking God to reinforce His presence and guidance in the singers heart and give him strength to follow God.

These lyrics I scream - falling down on me These visions and dreams - what’s this I see (in me)? Are you inside my bones - 'cause I feel you strong Everywhere I turn, Omipresent Ghost (you are a ghost)

Again, I see this as a prayer with introspection. The Bible teaches us that God is everywhere (Omnipresent), And here I see the song writer saying that wherever he is he feels the presence of God around him.

    Emotion who are you?

The chorus I believe is speaking about introspection and asking what voice it is that he is going to listen to.

    I love this song.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
