Carry Your Cross and I'll Carry Mine Lyrics
Blame my cloven hooves
If I sink what does it prove
I'll always be your prey
Blame my crooked cross
Say I'm your bitter loss
The winds of hell are blowing your way
Carry your cross and I'll carry mine
Dig your own hole and you'll be fine
Build your own tower 'til heavens devour
Your very last hour
Blame it on hell's fire
And on my desires
The skies are crying blood
Give me all your lies
And blame the lord of flies
The face of evil is the face of God
If I sink what does it prove
I'll always be your prey
Blame my crooked cross
Say I'm your bitter loss
The winds of hell are blowing your way
Dig your own hole and you'll be fine
Build your own tower 'til heavens devour
Your very last hour
And on my desires
The skies are crying blood
Give me all your lies
And blame the lord of flies
The face of evil is the face of God

this is one of the most touching songs I´ve ever heard. it´s pretty much like a philosophy book: deep and thought-provoking, but in just 16 lines. I think it´s about how religious people tend to piously believe that anybody that doesn´t belong to their creed or sect is going straight to hell and that their own religion (which is only one among many others) is the one and only true religion.at least that´s my interpretation of the six first lines. in the chorus the author advises people to live their lives without bothering with other peoples conceipts so that everything will be fine. he also tells people to do something constructive until the day they die. in the last stanza he makes a comment about how religious people view mankind´s bad deeds. christians tend to blame the world´s problems on the devil and on hell´s fire, while buddhists blame it on human desires, when, in fact, the blame is on mankind and it´s lame ethics. in the last line he points to a major ethical corruptor: religion. the face of God is the face of evil. religion is the evil.
This is the album most imbued with Thelema/Crowley ideas. Carry your cross and I'll carry mine means that everyone has his own individual way to God. The face of evil is the face of God because every face is the face of God. God contains everything and therefore he also contains evil.
The love the combination of the female and male vocalist.
A damned guy, who has this "angelical" girl... it's about a prohibed love, and about the "self-damnation" to it.

the lord of flies is beezlebub(i think thats how its spelled) which is also a name used for the devil sometimes.
Well my interpretation of the song it quite differnt yet i do agree with dead-god-in-me ibeleive that it has something to do with religion. on the first 6 lines i think it means to blame the devil or evil in her/him if she falls and blame her/his hypocrite religion. i think the chorus mean to bury her/his own grave and they'll be okay or build your own way to heaveen before you go to hell. that last set of 6 lines i think it means to blame the temptation i think this song is through a sinner's eyes b/c a sinner beleives god is evil.
Female vocals: Sonja Brandt. Can anyone find her? <3
The Women is very demanding, the Guy is very submissive and content! though she believes in god that doesn't make her Saint! she is making all devil's move...Typical eg. of Hypocrisy!
This song is clearly inspired by Chrisitanity's dark past with witch hunts.
1st stanza: Blame my cloven hooks If I sink what does it prove. This is a reference to the "water ordeal". Water represented purity and would reject evil. Evil objects were supposed to float in water. Those who sink were not witches, but they drowned.
Crooked cross could possibly represent a belief that someone has a warped belief system or worship.
The rest is pretty obvious knowing the context.
