SILENTLY leaving the room Lyrics
silently leaving the room
gathering your thoughts from the floor
hopefully no one will hear you
silently closing the door
down the long stairs to the hall
out to the streets where you'll find
rumored accounts and hearsay
was it me who acted that way
is it you who should stay
I don't recall ever acting that way
was it you who should've stayed
the truth was deceiving
when the hosts of the evening
found the ghost that was bleeding
drops of blood from the ceiling
everyone was laughing, we all prayed for a favor
that the ghost would entertain us with some songs and some notes
but by the stains of his blood covered all the wood floors
opened all of the windows and all of the doors
broke all of the bottles on streets down below
some blood was frozen
blessed by wounded love
when the ice skates came on the girls finally sang songs
to the tunes of the laughter
while silently leaving the room
gathering your thoughts from the floor
hopefully no one will hear you
silently closing the door
down the long stairs to the hall
out to the streets where you'll find
rumored accounts and hearsay
was it me who acted that way
is it you who should stay
I don't recall ever acting that way
was it you who should've stayed
the truth was deceiving
when the hosts of the evening
found the ghost that was bleeding

everyone was laughing, we all prayed for a favor
that the ghost would entertain us with some songs and some notes
but by the stains of his blood covered all the wood floors
opened all of the windows and all of the doors
broke all of the bottles on streets down below
some blood was frozen
blessed by wounded love
when the ice skates came on the girls finally sang songs
to the tunes of the laughter
while silently leaving the room

The song, to me, seems to have two different meanings.
For me, the first part of the song is about leaving an apartment you shared with an apartment due to a split, hence the "was it you who should have stayed", etc, similar to the theme of Owen's 'The Ghost Of What Should've Been', but the second part seems to be more about actually leaving as in dying, hence all the ghost lyrics. It's definitely a haunting track though.
I agree with BushmanBeats that this song juxtaposes "leaving" as in leaving a partner with "leaving" as in dying, but I think the two factor into each other.
In the first part of the song a character is broken up with, or is the one doing the breaking up. Either way, it's messy on them, and some of the lines clearly hint at a breakup ("Was it me who acted that way?" "Is it you who should stay?" are common things people think and discuss during a split).
It seems the narrator had some depression before the loss of their significant other and the loss drives him to the edge which leads into the next part of the song, which seems to very cryptically describe a suicide.
"The truth was deceiving when the hosts of the evening found the ghost that was bleeding drops of blood from the ceiling" - Many didn't think this person was suicidal. The "drops of blood" probably refer to seeing it only in small hints but the person usually kept it hidden. Eventually, of course, the blood all accumulates, and the truth comes out.
"Everyone was laughing, we all prayed for a favor that the ghost would entertain us with some songs and some dancing" - Many didn't take the subject's depression as seriously as they should have, which is unfortunately common regarding mental health even today. In a way, it's treated as a "joke", hence the laughter.
"But by the stains of his blood covered all the wood floors, opened all of the windows and all of the doors" - Now that this person has self-destructed and passed on, people see it was true, and his blood stains become all they can see. The truth - the "windows" and "doors" - is opened up and brought to light.
"broke all of the bottles on the streets down below, some blood was frozen, blessed by wounded love" - Continuing the poetic approach, his suicide has echoed and broken the ones who loved him. The "blessed by wounded love" bit factors into this, but to me it specifically is about the breakup which pushed him over the edge, since "wounded love" ended up costing him his life, and the person who left him or was left is bearing the brunt of the guilt of their wounded love.
"when the ice skates came on the girls finally sang songs to the tunes of the laughter while silently leaving the room" - I'm not sure what the "ice skates" bit refers to, other than going side by side with the wintry imagery, but I think this line represents how the world will continue on without him ("the girls finally sang songs to the tunes of laughter") regardless of his death, despite his loved ones' grief.
TL;DR: Person loses someone he loved; this pushes them over the edge and they kill themselves
All in all, pretty dark stuff, as expected for Carissa's Wierd.
