Nick Diamonds was born in 1981 so he would be 32 in 2014 (before his birthday that is). And, as someone said, the band was formed in 2000 so it would 13 years old in 2014 (again before its birthday).
He just feels really passionate about the band and feels like it will last forever (side by side 'till 2025).

Well, since the song says "Tomorrow is 2014 when i'll be 32 and we'll be 13" I think we can say that the song is about 2001 and the enormous change in the U.S. since september 11th. Particularly that people are greedier and more headstrung.
I thought it was about The Unicorns as its called The Unicorns: 2014. They started in 2000 so they couldve been 13 in the year 2014, right? I thought it was suppose to be some kinda prophecy of whats to come (only the Unicorns died before this)

i don't think this really has anything to do with relationships. i think it's mainly about their band. and maybe people in general. [but mostly their band] good band. miss them.
