Stomach Song Lyrics
some boys i know
they speak with broken mouths
i have to sit inside their stomachs
to find out what they're really about
but not like the days
when the sky is blue
and all that i had
was a little of me and a little of you
some girls i know
they speak with broken mouths
i have to sit within their stomach
to find out what they're really about
cause now days
all poeple want to confuse
to help them not to talk
to help them not to feel
but they can't be their eyes
several times iv'e seen them try
they know, they cant be their eyes
some boys i know
they speak with broken mouths
i have to sit inside their stomachs
to find out what they're really about
they speak with broken mouths
i have to sit inside their stomachs
to find out what they're really about
when the sky is blue
and all that i had
was a little of me and a little of you
they speak with broken mouths
i have to sit within their stomach
to find out what they're really about
all poeple want to confuse
to help them not to talk
to help them not to feel
several times iv'e seen them try
they know, they cant be their eyes
they speak with broken mouths
i have to sit inside their stomachs
to find out what they're really about

Her voice is fantastic. It is somewhat creepy to me.

The lyrics of this song are so faint that I really don't pay attention to them. I just love the music. Great song though still.
At a BSS concert in Toronto last week (Jan 21st, 06), Kevin Drew explained that the man "lyrics" were spoken by his "Grandpa" (actually his Grandmother's boyfriend) who recently died. I can't remember his name now (Ed i think), but it was pretty touching and he dedicated a song to him.
Anyways, I can't say I've ever thought about the words to this song very much. I don't listen to Feel Good Lost for the lyrics (obviously).
i think this is my favorite broken social scene song. they layer words in their music so beautiful, and this song just exemplifies that beauty so well with the singers having an unusual tone in their voices. a very relatable song, too.
i really love this song, and this album. it's so soothing. and beautiful.
the sound of crinkled elderly voices is eerie but astounding.
kind of puts life into perspective a bit. i love.
First of all I have a few corrections:
It should be "All people want are pills," not "all people want to confuse." And also, replace "not to talk" and "not to feel" with "LEARN to talk" and "LEARN to feel."
Now, In case somebody is confused by this song's meaning, I'll post what I think it's about:
The elderly singers are reflecting on how this generation relies on drugs more than anything else. They are saying how back in their day, life was just about the good times that people had with each other.
