Medication Lyrics

Medication for us all, it is a new way
and we're gonna take it cause we love it
Don't you know?

Is this the dose you've been dreamin' of?
A revelation from a gun
Doesn't matter
Overtaken, mine was yours, now overthrown

Just copulation in a song
I'm so contagious, can i cum?
In the new way
All of us cast asides became what has become

Medication for us all
You think you know me, well you're wrong
Doesn't matter
All of us cast asides became what has become

Most people don't have a choice? whatever man, you talk out of your ass. It's not about having a choice, it's about taking the easiest way out. Choosing to put some effort into something you’re good at and feel good about that, or choosing to use chemicals that makes you feel good. Chemicals that turns you into a depressed robot and leaves you paying, because you'll never be able to reach such a high without those chemicals again. Neglecting your gut feeling that it's wrong by doing another dose, and instead of stopping with the stuff and start paying for the wrong choices you’ve made, just take another dose so the feeling leaves. I say fuck you to them, giving their lives away for artificial highs that will be their highpoints for the rest of their lives. It’s about not being part of the cast aside and acting you couldn't help what happened to you.

Really, this song is Better Living Through Chemistry, part 2. Let's not forget what Homme said about that song:

"...we have a song called Better Living Through Chemisty which is an anti-drug song. It's saying okay, the government says 'it's okay for you to take Prozac everyday, every single day, to feel better and feel absolutely numb. Don't smoke that joint though, you!'"

This song definitely falls in the same vein, on the surface. But this song does play with the role of "medication" a bit more than Better Living Through Chemistry. In the second verse Homme refers to medication as "the dose you've been dreamin' of" and a "revelation from a gun". He's pointing out the that medicine can be both a cure and a poison.

Really, I could dive into this with some literary references et tout, but I'll spare you.

So much negativity, god damn. First off, stop bashing the stoners. That would be like me saying people who smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol are morons too, because those substances are actually worse for your health. Also most people who smoke weed will never touch meth, because they actually know how fucked up it is. I'm sorry, but I am personally offended by people who are offended by individuals that choose to smoke grass.

By the by, I believe this song is about people who over-do it with the drugs they use, and possibly suicidal feelings that come along with it. "Is this the dose you've been dreaming of? A revelation from a gun." Sort of reminds me of as a person gets high as they possibly can, they see everything as a revelation, intense. A feeling you would get as if you were about to commit suicide. "All of us cast asides became what has become." We all know what has become of people who have over done it with the drugs and runied their lives. To me they were seen as cast asides, so they chose to try hard drugs to substitute for company. But they have become alone and in love with nothing else besides the medication.

I swear this site breeds some of the biggest dumbasses I've ever had the misfortune of reading comments from.

I'm pretty sure this song is not about drugs. Why the fuck does every song have to be about drugs?

Have you ever heard of a METAPHOR? I'm not even going to waste my time talking about what I think this song is about, because too many of you stoner morons are busy whining like little bitches because you can't scratch your meth sores. Worthless fucking white trash.

About how this medication that society and the media feeds us makes us all the same and we absorb it willingly..
