To me I'd say this song was about an ex or girl he used to see, and now she wasn't interested in him anymore, but he still was in her. And that one time they would be drinking with freinds and she'd end up puking so he'd take care of her all night "holding her hair back" and making sure she's safe "we're offering nothing but the best accomodations" and not taking advantage of her while doing so "purely courteous across her chest"

But then in the morning she had forgotten or didn't want to thank him for what he had done for her.

raped? you guys are all off...this song is obviously about a travel agent trying to book a nice hotel room for someone who has a history of committing identity fraud. in the beginning its the guy who is saying he only likes to book hotels under other people's identities and now that he is caught, he doesn't want to do it anymore, doesn't want to remember the good ole times.
but the travel agent comes back and says, come on we have really good rooms and rates, a plethora of amenities, we just need two forms of identification. the agent doesn't catch on that is no longer fun, and he is on to different types of fraud, such as insurance or something like that. i think it was inspired by the movie "Catch me if you can" duh!

I definitely see how this relates to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. However we all relate to music differently and it's why we listen.

I can almost see a kid or a guy who is probably not the "coolest" among his peers having a crush on a popular chick. They meet up at a party and he hooks up with her. She doesn't remember anything because she was too drunk and doesn't remember anything. The word maybe got out - hence the pictures that she doesn't remember. i think this song is about some one who has broken up wit anotehr person but he still wants 2 b friends but she doesnt want to, she's cutting him out and he's tellin her not 2 be greatfull for all the good times they have had, and anthony wants to know what he deserves instead of being a friend according 2 her...thats juss my opinon either way its a beautiful song
