Better Luck Next Time Lyrics

Sometimes we fall
Ain't nothing new to me
Don't get me wrong
I'm a son you gave up
For this child now

Stop!
Tell me, where you going?
Maybe the one you love isn't there
You're going under
But you're over it all
So you don't care
About all that I had to see
I'd watch you wait until you come around
Around

Don't close your eyes
You need to see it all
It's no surprise
That they break you down
At least they won't give you up

Stop!
Tell me, where you going?
Maybe the one you love isn't there
You're going under
But you're over it all
So you don't care
About all that I had to see
I'd watch you wait until you come around

It's all wonderful
Living happily
To lose it all
And think you have everything

Stop!
Tell me, where you going?
Maybe the one you love isn't there
You're going under
But you're over it all
So you don't care
About all that I had to see
I'd watch you wait until you come around

Stop!
Tell me, where you going?
Maybe the one you love isn't there
You're going under
But you're over it all
So you don't care
About all that I had to see
I'd watch you wait until you come around

This song is awesome. I can't stop singing it. I think It's about somebody who loves another, but the other seems to be pursuing somebody else. Meanwhile, he's saying, maybe you're wrong, maybe you love me -- the other thinks "it's all wonderful" and that they have it all, but really he can see right through to how empty what she's chasing is.

About the son and child thing, I think it's figurative for saying he's an older love (so a more grown-up son) and the other is this new fling (a child). Also it could just be that she thinks it's gotten old with him, and she wants to go after something new.

I can relate about the "but you're over it all" part. Sometimes you see something happen and you tell yourself, "that's not me, I would never do that, I'm different", and so you disregard completely that you could be like that. But in reality, when you're put in a certain situation, you fall into exactly the same pitfalls.

Love is blind.

This song is about how the lead singer Jason Wade's parents split when he was 10... and his dad just walked out and how it ripped him up inside, and how he really loved his dad but his dad didnt really care or notice the emotional hurt that it put on him, but thats whats so great about lifehouse.... the lyrics that Jason Wade writes have meaning and he has something to say and he expresses it in his songs and that makes him an awesome song-writer!!!!

Yeah, after reading the lyrics, they make perfect sense in the context of his parent's divorce. I'd go with the "divorced parents" theory.

i think he's saying maybe that person is looking in the wrong places for the one they love when he's loved her all along and she didn't care about his feelings and didn't care about what he saw her do and he'll wait till she comes around

Yeah. I totally agree with the divorce idea of the whole song.

What I dont get is how people think it's about a couple who's having problems...

Well I guess it could fit the chorus... Maybe.

But if you look at the verses... It doesnt fit there. I mean, it's definitly talking about a son and one of his parents.

But hey... I guess lyrics can be interpreted in many ways...

That is one too sad song... :( its really so touching and makes me wanna cry, specially when i hear the chorus. Does anybody know why his parents divorced? Whats the real reason, the main issue? So sad..

OMG! I love this song so much! i can't stop singing it! I love his voice and the chords and everything! This song is definitely about his dad. I don't think it could be about anything else.
