Into The Sun Lyrics

It's been a while since you last saw me
One breaks down and the other runs free
These eyes can't see the days break
Too late for the other's mistake

Sit down thinking what have we done?
Let me inside
Is it all over before it's begun?
Please give me some time

'Cause we are running
Into the sun
Getting close to something
Into the sun
You know that we're falling
We're falling back
Into the sun

I never meant to let you go
Why did I leave?
Maybe we'll never know
But I'm a man now broken on the ground
I'm in need and I think that it shows

All this time, we're going nowhere
And we know it
I was so blind
All the lights are leading to where you're going
I'm not far behind

And now we're running
Into the sun
Getting close to something
Into the sun
You know that we're falling
We're falling back
Into the sun
Into the sun
Into the sun
Into the sun

You know that we're running
Into the sun
Getting close to something
Into the sun
You know that we're falling
We're falling back
Into the sun
Into the sun
Into the sun
Into the sun

This is what I think the song is about.

"It's been a while since you last saw me One breaks down and the other runs free These eyes can't see the days break Too late for the other's mistake"

About two people, who have maybe split up, and he let her go. They haven't seen each other for a while, and she's free while he is regretting the loss. It was maybe >his< mistake.

"Sit down thinking what have we done? Let me inside Is it all over before it's begun? Please give me some time"

Trying to get back together.

"I never meant to let you go Why did I leave? Maybe we'll never know But I'm a man now broken on the ground I'm in need and I think that it shows"

He wants her back, breaking it has destroyed him.

"And now we're running Into the sun Getting close to something Into the sun You know that we're falling We're falling back Into the sun"

The sun could be a symbol for happiness, the heat of things, their relationship. The one they want to get back.

I love this song.

I can't believe no one commented on this song!

It's about moving on with your life, your direction, your path to follow. I think its a good long song for when you're deep in thought.

Does anyone get the "into the sun" symbolism? I've tried so hard to understand why they're "running into the the sun" but I just don't get it.

"Running into the sun" symbolizes trying to reach an unattainable goal. You can keep running in the direction of the sun, but you'll never reach it.

Maybe it means running toward something great, because right after they say were getting close to something

sun is golden = good ... maybe, but your idea makes sense too

Look at it from this perspective .... into the Son.

Song Meaning
Cover art for Into The Sun lyrics by Lifehouse

It's about losing sight of real meaning in life and chasing the superficial side of relationships. The sun symbolizes something that looks bright and beautiful in our naive perspective, but really is the never ending chase for meaningless worldly pleasures.

"And now we're running Into the sun Getting close to something Into the sun You know that we're falling We're falling back Into the sun"

Wade is expressing that we are not chasing superficial things, but that they are pulling us in (we are faling back into-- not running into). The sun here is "blinding" and leads to us to loss of identity and confusion when things fall apart.

i feel the gravitational aspect of the sun is also symbolic. like he feels a natural pull to the sun. just like the sun would (obviously) hurt you, he also knows the relationship will hurt him, he just cant stop himself
