No One Knows I'm Gone Lyrics
Hell above and heaven below
All the trees are gone
Rain has such a lovely sound
To those who are six feet under ground
The leaves will bury every year
And no one knows I'm gone
Live me golden tell me dark
Hide from graveyard John
The moon is full here every night
And I can bathe here in his light
The leaves will bury every year
And no one knows I’m gone
All the trees are gone
Rain has such a lovely sound
To those who are six feet under ground
The leaves will bury every year
And no one knows I'm gone
Hide from graveyard John
The moon is full here every night
And I can bathe here in his light
The leaves will bury every year
And no one knows I’m gone

an ode to failed romantics, you have to love it.

wow. beautiful.
Very pretty song, doesn't seem to fit with the "Alice" theme the rest of the album has, but a very pretty song nontheless.
I don't know who Graveyard John is, but I hope I don't bump into him! This is spooky - people lying in their graves listening to the rain... Gives you a pleasant shiver.
Hauntingly beautiful!!!!! I've been addicted to this song and listening to it on repeat for 3 days now. Fist time I heard it was in Scarlett Johanssons version and I loved that one, so I desided to listen to Tom Waits orginal version and I loved that even more! The lyrics are poetic and the music is melancholic. Two things I love! I wanna have this song played at my funeral.
first song to make me cry for ages... i'm in love with tom waits!
Graveyard John was the nickname Charles Limbergh gave to his son's kidnapper. It's possible this song is sung from the viewpoint of a dead child..
