Quiet now, your voice seems miles away
Yet somehow, I hear your song resound
A little bit softer each day
And from my tired heart, a little bit farther away
Ill sing along
The whole day through
Just do your best to hear me
Its all you can do
You have my attention
Like youve had all the while
Since that first day when you made my heart smile
With loving eyes and tired sighs that flow
You have my attention
Like a shout through an empty sanctuary
Speak but a whisper
Ill hear a sermon
Ill sing along, the whole day through
Just do your best to hear me
Its all you can do
Ill sing along, the whole night through
While you sleep safely
Ill be thinking about you
You have my attention

well, in my oppinion this song could maybe be about a long distance relationship? the guy and the girl meet but its too good to be true. one of them moves away but they want to keep things working so they continue with a long distance relationship.. ?

"Quiet now, your voice seems miles away Yet somehow, I hear your song resound"

the guy knows that the girl is far away, but he thinks of her a lot and hears her voice...maybe in his dreams?

"And from my tired heart, a little bit farther away"

the guy feels like the relationship is hard, "my tired heart". maybe he feels as if his heart is in a different place [with that girl] "a little bit farther away"

"I’ll sing along The whole day through Just do your best to hear me It’s all you can do"

he's happy so maybe he's singing along, and he wants the girl to know that he's happy so the best she can do is "try to hear me" [him].

"You have my attention Like you’ve had all the while Since that first day when you made my heart smile"

the girl has his 'attention' and shes had it since the first day they met.. [maybe it was love at first sight.]

"With loving eyes and tired sighs that flow"

the relationship is taking a toll on them but it's worth it because they both love each other. [the 'loving eyes' being the love and the 'sighs that flow' being the doubt or tough times throught the relationship caused by the distance.]

"Speak but a whisper I’ll hear a sermon"

maybe she's shy, or feeling unsure because of this distance [but she really does love him], so she only says 'i love you' once in a while, but even though she doesn't say it a lot, he knows she loves him.

"I’ll sing along, the whole night through While you sleep safely I’ll be thinking about you You have my attention"

maybe because of the distance, the time zones are different. and maybe when she's sleeping, he's still awake, thinking of her because she has his "attention".

yeah.. i'm probably really wrong about this but thats what first came to mind when i heard this song. i'd like to hear anyone elses oppinions on this. = )

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.
