I think the term 'no wow' can be applied to broader things than just a relationship. Alison said in an interview a few years ago that this song was about how the majority of art created these days, whether that be music or literature, doesn't have that element of 'wow' to it.. it can be applied to anything where the magic is completely lost.
Its about taking revenge on someone for leaving you. Not sure what the term "no wow" means, though.
