Christmas Present Lyrics

What a perfect ending to this film we are watching
Cause she loves her boyfriend, like he has loved his girlfriend.
Just like the night sleeps on by
Just like the sun wakes the sky.
They are so in love.
Like we are so in love.

So hug it tight and embrace it.
Don't let the world deface it.
Just let it shout with amazement.
As we dance tonight.

Just like the cold becomes spring
Just like the perfect day dream
Just like your pretty eyes gleam
We are so in love.

this song is about how a begger finds god. he may or may not be talking to bryce, but he poses the question of, even though i'm a begger, when i speak god will listen? and then this other person says that god WILL listen and wants to accept you as his friend and wants the begger to accept him.

and how finding god will help the world be a better palace "soon is the end of all the worlds troubles, and all of its sin"

Correctings lyrics. Everything up there looks good, just add this below.

Oh-ho-whoa

[Silence]

Please mister spare some change For a poor broken man in need I’m sick and dying walking barefoot Please just buy me a drink

The truth is that I’d like to die But I fear of where I could go, that’s real ‘Cause take a look; I’m so drunk, stupid, and worthless For some Jesus you feel, that’s real

So let me get this straight Cause I have a question You’re saying he’d listen if I were to speak Yes that’s what I’m saying, in fact I was just thinking He’s probably thinking of asking you the same very thing He wants to say “you’re okay, be my friend Let me help you and take you out of this lake that you are clearly drowning in Make me yours and I’ll make your mine”

So hey, listen up friends Good news is coming, Soon is the end of all the world’s troubles And all of its sin. I said hey, listen up friends Oh, good news it coming, Soon is the end of all the world’s troubles And all of it’s sin

This song is confusing. I like it, but it's confusing. The first part, on the surface, is pretty self-explanatory. When I heard it, I just thought he was singing about how valuable love is and how we shouldn't let it go to waste. But then he paints himself as a beggar, and the next part is basically about finding Jesus (which, I'm assuming, is where the title 'Christmas Present') comes in. Then, in the last verse, he talks about judgement day? They seem like they're completely unconnected songs.

So if anyone takes time to listen to this song and try to understand it can you please explain it to me. :-)

Personally, I think it's a great song and all, but they dragged it out a bit much. The Rocket Summer is pretty much the only pop-ish-like band I listen to... I'm more into Hardcore and Metal... and all that jazz, but I really enjoy them, and this song really let me down. I love the lyrics, and I have to agree with "absolutdance" That it's indeed about the beggar and all, but please... it was WAY too lengthy.

love love love this song. I think bryce is trying to say that not matter how low you are in life, Jesus will talk to you and save you. The part, The truth is that I’d like to die But I fear of where I could go, that’s real ‘Cause take a look; I’m so drunk, stupid, and worthless For some Jesus you feel, that’s real

That part. Oh buddie. It is perfect.
