wow. this song is amazing. it actually gave me the shivvers. this song is just like how my life is going right now. break up. she wants to keep in touch. and i want nothing to do with her. even though it hurts. i just cant do it. sorry about my soapbox there for a minute. haha.
The newest Reggie album is a bit of a departure. The upbeat sound is replaced by a darker, brooding sort of deal, while keeping a little bit of the humor. The entire album was inspired by his recent divorce. Great song, just rather sad..

i think this song is about how, after having done everything in your power to make someone happy, you have realized that it's gone to nothing. it's a song about refusing to keep fighting for someone who doesn't seem to care about the relationship, and about starting over. but starting over in an almost cynical sense; starting over by being completely numb to love and it's effects because of the experience you had... beautiful, but tragic at the same time.
I think trite and clever said it perfectly.
Moving on and just living your life after a life-changing relationship falls apart is almost impossible, and afterwards you can't trust or love anyone because you're afraid the same sort of thing is just going to happen again, so you shut yourself off and block everyone out and just play dead.
