so this song definately has to be about miscommunication. they're each not getting each other, and she wants him to break through the silence and comfusion and be with her and complete her because they already know there's feelings between them.
yeah and the movie is an analogy for their relationship.
accidentally came across natasha when my sister left her cd in my player, but i think she's a good singer even though i don't like pop. toolostinyou when i read your comments i didn't really think about the song that way but you may be right. however i thought she was singing about her father who left her when she was young, "took light out of my life when you gave in", but she wants to get to know him better now that they have met up again, "break into my story" and "you can be my leading man". i don't know if this could be it. does anybody know if her dad left her when she was young??

I used to think weirdly, this was about having a crush on TV. LOL but now listening to the words it is about miscommunication of some sort.

The metaphor of a failing relationship as a silent movie is brilliant. When the communication goes, all you have left is this feeling that your significant other is just a roommate and a person that never leaves. Too bad this song didn't run up the pop charts, because this is one of the few pop songs in recent memory that I've actually liked. Well, I guess the unplucked gems are the ones that are left behind for the real fans.
