I think it's about change. He's been away from this girl for a long, and he's changed a lot since they last saw each other. But he did it for her, but is still afraid she might not like the change. ("I've got a lot to tell you about me That wont go over well...well i dont care")

The "you can't turn off that you're dead" part, I think means that he can't change back. What he used to be, and who he is now are two different people. He can't change that. And if he did, he wouldn't feel like him. The old him is gone.

Orrr, second thought, he might have changed to impress other people. (Like in Remember to Feel Real) But the girl didn't like the change, so she stopped hanging out with him. And that was a big loss for her and he knows that.

It All Makes Sense!!!!... I've been trying to interpret this whole album forever and after reading comments from other songs I've finally figured it out!.... What I Think About This Song: He Was Regreting His Suicide Because It Was A Rash Decision, Until He Finally Realized It Was What Was Meant To Be So She Could Move On In Her Life With Someone Else But Everything He Did (The Suicide And Suches) Will Make Her The Person She Will/Is Becoming.... Okay I Hope I'm Not Way off Base, All The Other Comments Are From Forever Ago But I Just Discovered This Band Like 6 Months Ago lol

Wow afs has even said what this album was about. And yet stupid kids still can't figure it out. The whole album has a suicide/regret meaning behind it. He committed suicide because a love was lost and he knew he couldn't go on without it. The rest of the album is about him regretting it, because its nothing like what everyone puts it out to be.

The narrator follows her back to her house and sits behind her stairs, convincing himself that he needs to move on.
