My Lady Story

Another song based around gender confusion. This was one of the highlights of I Am A Bird Now for me. The backing when he sings 'My Lady Story' is stunning and the general feeling of the track is one of extreme comfort on a potentially uncomfortable subject (presumably a sex change operation). A song to be listened to whilst curled up in front of the fire on a winters evening and thinking of the one you love.

I thought this song was about losing your breasts to cancer and feeling ilke you've lost your feminine beauty.

maybe it's about being able to believe in and long for what is left of beauty, after your struggle to attain it has already been crushed a thousand times.

I listen to this song and it totally resonates with me regarding my experience of breast cancer. The loss of femininity, and the scars, and the resulting sterilisation through the treatment needed. The term annialation totally describes the process. I am not sure that this is what Antony was referring to. Rather it may be regarding a sex change process. The song is probably one of my favourites ever.
