la fine non è la fine Lyrics

piove sulla strada, pioggia nuda pioggia che uccide l'ultimo giorno di viaggio.
voglio addormentarmi e non sentirti.
dire che il tempo ha avuto la meglio su tutto.
nomi senza casa, senza meta, mezzi senza fine...
chiudere l'inverno per sporcarmi fino in fondo al cuore, lungo ogni sentiero degno di essere solcato.
cedere alle onde del destino, ora in piena, mentre il sole in cielo inciampa su se stesso.
hai scritto sul mio corpo che non è la fine

I have the official translation from the lyrics sheet which accompanies the 12" release, which I own. I'll type it up.

The End Is Not The End.

rains on the street, rains naked rain that kills the last day of the journey. i want to fall asleep and do not feel you. recognize that time got the better of everything. names without a home, a destination, means without an end... shut the winter to mess me up deep to my heart, along every path that deserves to be scored; resign to the waves of fate, now in flood, while the sun in the sky trips over; you carved on my body that the end is not the end.

Best La Quiete song. Absolutely amazing.

Here's a very rough (and probably not very accurate) translation:

It rained on the road, naked rain, rain that kills the last day of journey. I want to go to sleep and not hear you. To say that the time got the better of everything. Names without home, without goal, means without end...to end the winter, to stain me until in fund to the heart, long worthy every path to be plowed. To yield the waves of the destiny, now in full, while the sun in the sky stumbles on as if same. You wrote on my body that it is not the end.

Here's another attempt at translation, hopefully a little more accurate than my last one:

It rains on the street, rain, naked rain, that kills the last day of the journey. i want to fall asleep and not feel you. recognize that time got the better of everything. names without a home, a destination, means withound an end...end the winter to hurt me deep to my heart, along every path that deserves to be plowed; yield to the waves of fate, now in flood, while the sun in the sky stumbles. You carved on my body that the end is not the end.

What does it mean?!

it doesn't actually mean nothing but it suggests you a lot of images

A more accurate translation

"It rains on the street, naked rain, rain that kills the last day of travel I want to fall asleep and not hear you saying that the time has got the better of everything Names without home, without ends, means (but it could also mean: 'trucks' or 'buses') without end... To shut the winter and get dirty deep inside my heart, along every path that deserves to be plowed. Yielding to the waves of fate now in flood whilte the sun in the sky strips over

You carved on my body that the end is not the end"

To me this song always sounded like some kind of impressions from the last day of a tour, like if thei'r coming home from a long travel. So they think to everyone they met "names without home". But i really don't know, every sentence brings you something different from the other.

Great lyrics anyway

hi guys. i'm italian. i think i can help you with the translation.

it rains on the street, naked rain, rain killing the last day of the journey. i want to fall asleep and don't want to hear you* say that time won above everything. names without homes, without destinations, means without purposes** to end winter in order to get dirty deep inside my heart, through every path deserving to be walked. to give way to waves of destiny, now in flood, while the sun in sky stumbles on itself. you carved on my body that the end is not the end

*[there's a mark between "hear you" and "say" wich would change the meaning into "to say" but i think this ambiguity is too marked to be ignored] **[in the italian lyric all these things are expressed in singular but they're general, and they're meant to be plural; i'm not very good at english, but the word "fine" here means "PURPOSE", and i don't know if this meaning could be expressed also by the word "END"]
