Wednesday's Song Lyrics

You'll make it through the day
See things another way and behold
Listen to Wednesday's song
This night you go home alone
How the sane go upright
How you look another night

You're back under my hat
And even knowing that you're a whore
Nothing ever meaning more
Than switching rooms through a door
Out into another one
Frames flash inward

And you know
I have seen the world enough
I've drowned in my thoughts a lot
Deep in rains that swirl above
I canceled heaven I concede

Another word to say
When everything's ok you go down
And pulling up the slack
And never coming back
An alarm

Ringing to set the sun
No one ever becomes
What other's thought they should've been
Inside they're what they can see

You know I do miss this girl
To show I am in a swirl of sun
Being what I've got the joy
I canceled heaven when I concede
Everything that I believe
I canceled heaven I concede

wasn't Wednesday mentioned in the 'Funky Monks' DVD? Or Scartissue.. one of the two, a lady who came around every week.

Personally, the line 'I do miss this girl' and the way he sang it in the acoustic version was so heartfelt and beautiful.

this song is so amazing. its got to be one of the best songs that hes made. i think its to do with another world that john visited and liked it so much he wanted everyone to go to it

Another awesome song by JF. I think the main point of attack of the lyrics is a sort of inner conflict. Such as making it through the day by seeing things another way. Not becoming what other's thought you should've been, but realizing that inside you're what you can see. I like the part,

"You know I do miss this girl To show I am in a swirl of sun Being what I've got the joy"

I think this is more inner conflict. I relate it to a guy missing a girl and he wants badly to share with her the great quality he has; namely the metaphoric 'swirl of sun' he is in, as well as the joy he has. Thats just my opinion.

I love this song simply because of the way John sings "How you look another night". I don't know why but I could listen to that line a million times and fall in love with Johns voice every time! Love love love this track! One of my faves.

its hard to find real men who see inner beauty now. im guessing john made this song mostly for his female fans but to keep his male fans thinking. the first time i heard this song i cried for ages after it (same w/ most of his songs). it means so much inside me but the exppressions cant come out in words for this song at all. hes a guy who does that to you
