Everyone Who Pretended To Like Me Is Gone Lyrics
Because he knows
Our Romeo,
He can't climb back.
He swings in loopholes.
When he goes through the air
Their vengeance will stretch out.
I made the best of it.
I made the best of it.
I made the best of it.
This velvet rope
Has fell before
In vain.
Clothing crashing the floor.
Insane.
Worse than once thought.
I made the best of it.
I made the best of it.
I made the best of it.
I made the best of it.
I made the best of it.
Our Romeo,
He can't climb back.
He swings in loopholes.
When he goes through the air
Their vengeance will stretch out.
I made the best of it.
I made the best of it.
Has fell before
In vain.
Clothing crashing the floor.
Insane.
Worse than once thought.
I made the best of it.
I made the best of it.
I made the best of it.

This song gives me the image of a trapeze artist swinging through the air on a rope. The vengeance stretched out is fake friends who will not be there to catch you when you fall in life. He's had it happen before....he crashed to the floor and none of his so-called friends were there for him, and he made the best of it. He survived, even though everyone who pretended to like him was gone.
Yurivolte take on the song is amazing and i couldnt agree with it more. "i made the best of it" the drums are amazingly energetic
Well, I dont really know the actual lyrics to this song and Im pretty sure that only one man does. However, This still may be my favorite Walkmen song. When listening to this song, mixed with the title, I get the obvious feelings of dissapointment. A certain kind of dissapointment that can kill you if you dont "make the best of it" no matter how much it hurts. In other words, she may be gone and it may be your fault even......but ya gotta make the best of it before it kills you.
Thats just my take.
this reminds me of a trip i once took...came back, and everything and everyone had changed...and not for the better...but, one either makes the best of it...or it gets the best of them
this song is incredible. im trying to match the sound of the song with the lyrics because then i think i will get a better idea of what the song actually means. anybody have any input on that? i somewhat agree with the first comment, but i do think that something terrible happened for the second time but was worst this time and it was his fault maybe? then he had to try to fix it the best he could. pretty much what the first comment said. and im probably completely wrong on this
Maybe everything is being over analyzed, maybe the last lyric is the only lyric that matters...
Clothing crashing to the floor. Insane. Much worse than first thought.
The horrific scope of the infidelity committed against the narrator is hitting in waves.
