I'm Sorry Lyrics
I'm sorry, so sorry
That I was such a fool
I didn't know
Love could be so cruel
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, yes
You tell me mistakes
Are part of being young
But that don't right
The worng that's been done
(I'm sorry) I'm sorry
(So sorry) So sorry
Please accept my apology
But love is blind
And I was too blind to see
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, yes
You tell me mistakes
Are part of being young
But that don't right
The worng that's been done
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, yes
I'm sorry, so sorry
Please accpt my apology
But love is blind
And I was too blind to see
(Sorry)
That I was such a fool
I didn't know
Love could be so cruel
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, yes
Are part of being young
But that don't right
The worng that's been done
(So sorry) So sorry
Please accept my apology
But love is blind
And I was too blind to see
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, yes
Are part of being young
But that don't right
The worng that's been done
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh, yes
Please accpt my apology
But love is blind
And I was too blind to see
(Sorry)

The girl did something hurtful to her boyfriend, and wants him to know how much she regrets it. No clues are given as to exactly what she did, which I think was intentional, so the listener could base it on their own experiences.
He responds that, "mistakes are part of being young." I find this line out of place, because it's not really something a young person would say. It's something an older person, like a parent, would say to someone young. Just how old is this girl's boyfriend supposed to be? But, I don't really think that's what they were trying to imply. I think the line is just poorly thought-out.
[Edit: Edit]
This is one of her big hits, but i suppose no one listens to the 1950's music anymore.
Loads of people listen to 1950s/1960s music still. S: & anyway, this song was released in 1960.
"And I was too blond to see" should be "And I was too BLIND to see"
