The Wooden Song Lyrics
Take me, break me
Tell me a good one and maybe I'll cry
Go with me, show me
Tell me a good one and maybe I'll die
Lately I've been dancing in ceiling fans
Into the kitchen and out the back gate
Well I know it sounds strange but it could be the other way
Round to the ground where I know I must stay
Take me, break me
Tell me a good one and maybe I'll cry
Go with me, show me
Tell me a good one and maybe I'll die
Lately I've been dancing in ceiling fans
Circled in secrets, playing a game
Well I know it sounds strange but it could be the other way
Round to a town where they don't know your name
Together....for a while....ain't no good
Tell me a good one and maybe I'll cry
Go with me, show me
Tell me a good one and maybe I'll die
Lately I've been dancing in ceiling fans
Into the kitchen and out the back gate
Well I know it sounds strange but it could be the other way
Round to the ground where I know I must stay
Take me, break me
Tell me a good one and maybe I'll cry
Go with me, show me
Tell me a good one and maybe I'll die
Lately I've been dancing in ceiling fans
Circled in secrets, playing a game
Well I know it sounds strange but it could be the other way
Round to a town where they don't know your name
Together....for a while....ain't no good

Cant beleive this awesome song doesnt have more comments. WHATS WRONG WITH YOU PPL!!! Great lil git solo on this song too.. lovely
I think this song is about being insanely drunk, stumbling around, and potentially falling "down to the ground where I know I must stay"
Its modern take on a medieval dirge....took me two decades (3?) To hear the song for what it is....funerary song for sure
Check out the old German song “Wooden Heart” “And if you say goodbye Then I know I would cry Maybe I would die ‘Cause I don’t have a wooden heart”
Not really aligned for the melody, but the imagery is parallel. Idk if there’s any connection at all… probably not.
Gorgeous.
The bittersweet window at the end of a relationship where one is moving away, but before they actually leave.
Funny jokes and pleasant times feel good, but they also make your pending end burn that much more, which is why a "good one" would make you cry or die.
"Well I know it sounds strange but it could be the other way Round to a town where they don't know your name Together....for a while....ain't no good"
