This song isn't focused on Walter's life, it's focused on Cynthia's. Room of Angel is Walter's song.

Walter never had parents, he's an Orphan.
I have to say, the lyric, "Mom never holds me, Dad loves a stranger more than me." made me think it WAS about Walter. Seeming he never knew his mother she was a stranger to him, and obviously never held him. Only the first verse mentioning dancing and the lyric "All that I need are some simple loving words." made me think this could be Cynthia. Walter is the last person in the game who could be healed simpley through a few loving words...
I think this song show's why Walter was going crazy. If you played the game you would see he doesn't remember his mother being a person it was apt. 302, but he could never get in there because when he came back it was occupied by someone else, I think this song emphasizes how lonely Walter was and how all his basic needs were ignored: Love, being held. Remember he murdered 20 people, to try to see his mother. We did'nt really know anything about Cynthia

I never thought about that but this could be about Cynthia, I mean when you meet her she just seems like a ... a fast-girl and your assumpations are 'Whoreeee.' but do you ever stop to think with a video game character or someone in real life that there's more to them than that?
Now reading the lyrics it does fit with the description of Cynthia's outter appearance as a character. She seems self-concerned, and selfish, but without her parents showing that kind of compassion toward her how she could show the same toward anyone else? and thinking the way to be with people is to barter for one thing by giving them another.
Rain could also be a metaphor for using sex as a tool to get by, forget the fact that you feel like an object instead of a person. I met a prositute the other day, she was as nice and sweet as could be, and genuine at that. Nothing like Cynthia, but I'm sure you get my point.
Now the song doesn't seem to fit Walter as much as I previously thought... >.o; but it doesn't mean he couldn't be standing out in the rain.
Since the game didn't really shed any light on Cynthia's past or her life, it's not probable that the song is about her; I haven't actually played the game, I've seen most of the cutscenes, but from what I did see she didn't seem relevent enough to the story to have a whole song dedicated to her.
