Dove Grey Sands Lyrics
Seeing life begin, hear the ocean sing
It takes you back, pulls you back, brings you home
See a face in stone, a hollow moon above an aching sky
Silent night, brings you home
Left without a place, lonely in a space
That you can breath
It's the essence of our love, my love...
Led by devotion, celebrate, celebrate, celebration
Dove grey sands
Led by devotion, celebrate, celebrate, celebrate now
Dove grey sands
Narrow days alone, wishing for the sun
Don't hide away, burn to grey, warm the soul
Facing life alone, numbers on a phone
To help you back, send it back, bring you home
Left without a place, lonely in a space
That you can breath
It's the essence of our love, my love...
Led by devotion, celebrate, celebrate, celebration
Dove grey sands
Led by devotion, celebrate, celebrate, celebrate now
Dove grey sands
Feeling like it's over, it's just the start
I can't hear you again
Dreaming of the ocean, as waves come in
I can't hear it again
Dove Grey Sands

No comments? I love this song, it's so beautiful, what do you guys think it means?
To be terribly unprofound, this song is so pretty. It's really convinced me that I have to buy Pushing the Senses
Again, Grant uses some awesome imagery and metaphors in his lyrics. Previous to the release of Pushing The Senses I read that Grant had been on holiday somewhere hot during his lyric writing, and that we should expect some beach related lyrics or something, which I guess would explain the whole 'Dove Grey Sands' thing. Absolutely awesome.
I think there is some reference to Jons death and about learning to start again and see the beauty in life after such sadness.
You often can relate it to jons death..
one believes its about love, but it actually is about friendship
for me this is about a place wich is beautiful, maybe even perfect. not because there are things we like, but because there is nothing we dont like. this place is perfect because we dont know much about it. however, the one who walks there (grant?) is happy sounds a bit strange i guess...
when i hear this song, i think about someone playing sitting in the sunlight playing guitar. somewhere on the grass in the woods.
After 5 years of despising Pushing The Senses, I'm finally coming round to the album, especially this song. It's truly beautiful and showcases Grant's songwriting perfectly.
Personally, i feel it's about him missing his home. He's from Newport, which is right on the south coast of wales.
To me, it's about all the shit that's gone down in the 3 or so years prior to PTS and how coming back to his hometown to reflect can help.
Great song to close out the album...killer album full of emotion.
